Colman's Mustard has been made just outside Norwich since 1858, but the Unite union says the plant is in jeopardy.

It follows an announcement from Britvic which said it is closing a drinks-making operation on the same site.

Unite said that the announcement had serious implications for the future of Colman's Mustard, which is owned by Unilever.

"Unilever has today announced a review of the whole site to be concluded by the end of November. Everything is up for review including expanding its operations, selling part of the site and, more worryingly, closure," Unite said in a statement.

The Lomnbard column in the FT yesterday noted that shares in Fever-Tree have increased by 1171.2% since November 2014. Britvic shares over the same period have increased by 3.4%. It used this performance to explain why the Fever-Tree co-founder offloaded £29m-worth of shares, along with a comparison of ingredients in tonic water made by the two companies showing they are basically the same.

No surprise that my local serves a bottle of Fever-Tree tonic with a G'n'T.

Investors Chronicle...

Britvic (BVIC) reported that group revenue was up 6.5 per cent during the third quarter to £384.6m while volumes increased 2.3 per cent. In Great Britain, revenue growth in the carbonates division was driven by Pepsi Max and R Whites, while the still business saw a slight decline due to aggressive competition in grocery.

France and Ireland all experienced revenue growth, though international revenue was flat and conditions in Brazil remained “challenging”. Management expects cash profits to be in line with expectations for the full year despite “challenging comparatives” for the final quarter and a tough economic backdrop.

Buy.
