Not impressed that this ws tipped as a buy by a load of brokers at over £5 and I bought at that time. I guess I'm in for the long haul and the dividend.

Several other factors he hasn't mentioned involved in the fall, though long term I believe the shares will do well. Question is when to buy, I hold a small few to keep up my interest, and there is always the handsome divi, will probably buy more later, but how much later is difficult to say at the moment.

The clue is in the final 3 letters in brackets, as the dates you have quoted refer to the South African Stock Exchange.

I was reading from the recent Dividend finalisation RNS

"The May 2018 Dividend will be payable on 9 May 2018 to shareholders registered on either the UK main register or the South Africa branch register on 23 March 2018 (the record date). "

Final results shows
Shares commence 20 March 27 June 3 October 24 December
trading ex-dividend
(JSE)

so am now confused as neither is today, tho I sort of get it that trading date and the day it goes on record will be different.

I don't have any direct tobacco holdings atm, but do have some EDIN unfortunately,
where BATS is their top holding.
