Order a bigger turkey boys, The Santa rally must start soon. Of course ex div date 21st Dec for another 57.72p in the bag. |
If the 50dma resistance is sustainably broken on the upside... bullsih |
Willo, you mean in the same way that domestos only kills 99% of germs? It's what they call job security :-) |
And now they are apartments, backing onto the canal. |
More weed! ;) |
Interesting article.https://seekingalpha.com/article/4647559-british-american-tobacco-improved-performance-market-multiples?feed_item_type=article |
Ahhhh Cobol. I remember the good all days when programmers used Cobol and programs worked because they were properly tested before being supplied to customers. Not like now when programs are full of bugs and customers are driven crazy trying to run their businesses with unreliable software. |
Nice 57.72p dividend in the isa tax free bag Friday, next ex div 21st December for payment 1st Feb. Don't you just love this share. |
so why post on here ???
you people are all over the web spouting your opinions about a share you have no money or interest in,
i filtered you and tonight i looked to see what you were saying and i now realise why i filtered you. |
Monty
Are you a West Ham supporter
Every post is so positively weighted that it brings to mind the lyrics contained therein
'They fly so high They reach the sky Then like my dreams They fade and die'
As an ex smoker from the ages of 15 until a few years ago can t really countenance buying Tobacco shares and as for those Vapes they leave me cold.
But they seem able to keep paying the dividends
How much longer in light of the pressures being brought to bear I wouldn't like to hazard a guess 'Smoking might seriously damage your wealth'
But as long as they sustain the dividends in the end is all that matters
Good luck |
Just a bit of fun. In fairness wasn’t to far off. |
We all know that dave - but appreciate you for keep reminding us :-)
I'll pee myself if it opens on Monday above 2600. |
Good morningSorry but the prediction was £26 by close yesterday. Now if he'd said £25 he'd still have been wrong but a lot closer.Completely pointless pretending you know the future :) |
Microfocus was extemely good to me also planit2 with many software projects developed on the back of thei Cobol language offering. I never bought shares though. |
I also hope that we have bottomed, have built a position over the last few weeks. There were lots of stocks inversely correlated to the bond yields so my portfolio is looking a bit more healthy over the last couple of days. Let's hope this is just the start of a long bull run.
It's funny MicroFocus is mentioned, Monty sometimes drove me mad on that board but the share was extremely good to me. |
discOd: I'd wait until Monday's opening before crowing too much.
This link, courtesy of Aceuk on the yield thread tells us that bond yields are indeed dropping. This bodes well for SP's. |
£26 X |
Santa rally going to start early in my view, order that bigger turkey boys, lol. |
Weaker dollar hurting us a bit here now.Gbp/USd has moved from 1.22 to 1.24 |
I agree with the 2 posts above.
Would expect the short term boost to come off a little both here and in many others too, especially as we head towards the close today as it's a weekend, but that presents an opportunity to maybe catch this at sub 2500 before it really starts to wake up.
Good luck all 👍🏻 |
Don't forget stockmarket about a six month forward looking indicator, bonds should be lower and high yielders with a growing dividend should flourish, not rocket science. |
So now we know that these high yield defensives are directly correlated to bond yields ... with investors seeing that bonds may have topped and therefore jumping back into ones that pay way more than 5% (soon to be 3%, in the next year or two anyway) |
Non farm 150k v 180k expected, unemployment 3.9% v 3.8% expected |
I certainly agree with you on the 'merry go round comment'.These CFOs and CEOs do chase the money around from company to company and the non-executive directors tend to be on many company boards at the same time so how much time they devote is thinly spread out among their many appointments. It is what it is sadly but leadership qualities in business is as lacking as it is with our political class from what i can see.It was interesting to note about Jamie Dimon at JP Morgan who at the end of the day is a salaried employee of that company. He's been CEO for twenty odd years and with his salary, bonuses and stock options he is a billionaire ($1.7bn).Unbelievable. |
