BARCELONE (Agefi-DowJones)--La compagnie pétrolière et gazière britannique BP s'est retirée du champ pétrolier de Kirkouk, en Irak, après l'expiration de son contrat d'exploration fin 2019, a déclaré mardi un porte-parole du groupe.
BP a a signé en 2013 un accord avec la société publique irakienne North Oil Company pour fournir une assistance technique dans ce champ pétrolier situé dans le nord de l'Irak.
"Comme prévu, en décembre 2019, BP a terminé le travail sur le terrain, les études et les recommandations", a déclaré BP dans un communiqué.
Il est estimé que le champ contient environ 9 milliards de barils de pétrole, selon BP.
