Happy with the pivot yesterday. Also pleased with the rebuttal to Milliband on the wires by ex BP corporate guy. On balance happy to hold, sure we might see some gyration to the share price but the direction imo is in one direction. Awaiting for the Q&A and analysts forecast updates.

Must admit I was gonna top Slice yesterday but hesitated and still feel the same - perhaps it is because the market has seen a bit of the wokeness starting to crumble and bp have actually dared to push back against the movement / agenda - shown a bit of grit/minerals and they like it?

650 sounds achievable. I’ll finally take some profits maybe then.

Chances of a takeover of BP by another big oil company are about 0%. The "conservative" government would not wear it and the anti-trust implications in the US and EU are prohibitive.

adg - I think you meant "exacerbate potential rise" (i.e. add fuel to) rather than "exasperate" (i.e. frustrate).

Not a chartist but t’filling of t’gap last week may just be what was needed for t’technical traders?

It has to hold 500p at some stage - there is virtually zero doubt in a sane market that bp is going higher, M&A rumours will just exacerbate potential rise - but can it hold this excursion over 500p….? Hope so but time will tell - US opening usually has some impact on bp/shell both up & down so let’s just wait for our septic masters to let us know what we are going and where we are going today……
