08/2/2022 09:09 | I am thinking 12 weeks from now... Brent averaged $77 for the three months of Q4 Thus far Q1 is 5 1/2 weeks in and Brent has averaged about $10 more and still looking strong - it could average $90 for Q1 the way things are looking 450 is a very real possibility by next update | adg

08/2/2022 09:00 | I get your point rich. When they cut the dividend (the covid excuse), I just reinvested the dividend money. I've got another 2 years before I retire. I'm hoping he will reinstate a decent hike in 2025. We need a decent level for the oil price to hover around. I like good housekeeping at the moment. I'm happy with them. | veryniceperson
08/2/2022 08:56 | Thanks. It looks good to me! | hazl
08/2/2022 08:50 | rich, I think you are missing the point that you now own a higher percentage than you did a year ago so you can sell a few shares and still own the same part of BP you did before. So if BP buys back 4% of shares and cancels them you need to sell circa 4% of your shares to keep your shareholding stable. This money will then make up for the lower dividend. If you take it to the extreme and BP bought back every share you didn't personally own you would then own 100% of BP! I bet you wouldn't mind that. | planit2
08/2/2022 08:37 | I’m a long term holder and see more value in obtaining a dividend than an increase in pocket value of my holding, given it was cut 50% due to COVID-19 excuses. The profit is only realised if I sell my holding. Surely the point of investing in a company long term is to create a passive income, unless I tuck it away and wait for another 40years and hope for the best….why would a long term holder sell his holding. | richvandam
08/2/2022 08:36 | Great results. Far better than 2019. With buyback support this will be in the 450 to 500 region again soon enough... imho | crazi
08/2/2022 08:32 | 4% a year to keep with inflation. If inflation runs away, they may increase it a little. | veryniceperson
08/2/2022 08:30 | No, it's a mix of both rich. rich, I'm a long-term holder. Personally, I like to see the buybacks and cancelling of shares; it makes our holdings worth more. rich are you in and out trader or long-term that does make a difference. Each to our own! | veryniceperson

08/2/2022 08:20 | Good results and a nice rise. I read a post regarding the lack of Divi increase!?..this seems odd as no increase was expected as per the strategy to 2025. | dovey21
