hellscream, before this Looney CEO embarked on this change of direction for BP the policy ought to have been put to the shareholders, I invested in an oil and gas company not an extension to the green movement!

Good day optomistic

OK a little moan but don't make a habit of it, there's enough doom and gloom around without your two pennyworth.

"I have been looking at the algorithm that you posted and it looks interesting but the range between buys and sells looks very close especially as the candle has to be completed before the signal is set."
=================================================================================

Yes they are close when the share price is in a tight range but other than that they are wider especially on the longer timeframes ie. daily, 4 hour 1 hour. Yes the candle has to complete to get the 'final paint'. It is a very simple algo but I find it useful.

"On comparing the MACD you posted it seems to me that buying signals on crossovers are not as frequent but do appear to give better return."
================================================================================

Correct. A crossover suggests a larger move and therefore a better return.

"I will not ask for your view as no doubt ask or not I will be sure to get one."
================================================================================

Bloody cheek! I've a good mind not to give you a view (thinks.......forsooth yon optomistic knoweth me too well.)

As I posted I use the algo in conjunction with other indicators. It is useful for entry to a trade but I do not wait for an exit 'paint'. I exit based on price action and my other indicators.

"Hope you are having a good day as some of the original holders in AHT must be having...ah well I did hold them once :-("

I also held them once but that's another story.

VW, BP to Invest in Europe Car-Charging Network: Manager Magazin
By
Carolynn Look
14 March 2021, 10:36 GMT

Volkswagen AG, BP Plc and the oil company’s German gas station brand Aral are planning to invest in an electric-car charging network in Europe, Germany’s Manager Magazin reported.

Details are likely to be announced Monday at VW’s Power Day event in Wolfsburg, the magazine said, citing people it didn’t identify. The plans involve more than 1,000 charging stations in cities and near highways. VW declined to comment to Manager Magazin.

Europe’s sluggish expansion of vehicle charging infrastructure has already prompted a separate joint venture between VW and other carmakers to ramp up their network. EV sales in the region tripled last year, and the companies fear long lines at charging points could put off potential buyers.

BP, and other European oil companies, are also investing more to pivot toward cleaner forms of energy. BP is rolling out ultra-fast charging points in the U.K. and plans to expand in Germany.

@richvandam - do you mean Q4, Q1 not out yet?

Will do that but the world is a different place in Q1, I thought although Europe is in shutdown the rest of the world has bounced back more so overall declines are less than was envisaged in Q4.

I can imagine the last half of the year will be the biggest demand of aviation fuel ever as people catch up on holidays with their savings and the backlog of business trips unwinds.

I have no evidence for this but my feeling is the increase in demand from emerging markets over the last 18 months has not really been factored in properly to demand projections for the last half of the year. India and China will have grown demand from Q4 2019.

Oil price doesn’t necessarily mean the revenue automatically massively increases. BP are producing far less fuels due to globally week demand. Please read the first quarter results.

They have said what they are doing this year, they are paying down debt and then buying back shares.
Hopefully with the recovery in oil prices they will reach their debt target early so will start buying shares soon.

At these price levels I wish they would buy back now and then pay off the debt at the end of the year (other way round to what they are doing)

Good afternoon Bracke, now I do have to be allowed a little moan now and again (please):-)
I have been looking at the algorithm that you posted and it looks interesting but the range between buys and sells looks very close especially as the cndle has to be completed before the signal is set.
On comparing the MACD you posted it seems to me that buying signals on crossovers are not as frequent but do appear to give better return.
I will not ask for your view as no doubt ask or not I will be sure to get one.
Hope you are having a good day as some of the original holders in AHT must be having...ah well I did hold them once :-(
