18/2/2017 08:49 | It's the very policies that the Guardianistas/BBC employees support that have caused the problem Oh how they'll choke on their Latte's | joe say
18/2/2017 08:32 | I had a call from reps. of COC yesterday asking me how I was going to vote..... | ifthecapfits
18/2/2017 08:18 | ...and those born in the '70's, 80's and 90's will inherit it all! Not like those born in the babyboom years who have had to work for it. | fireplace22
18/2/2017 06:54 | I say to my many friends from the late 50's to mid 60's era, we were so darn lucky. We were probably born in the best of all times. We have it all, those that follow will have a lot less and need to work a lot longer for the privilege. I pity our children and grand children...what sort of world will they endure? | jordaggy
17/2/2017 22:47 | There are folks who are trying to scare some not so well informed shareholders that once COC wins, they can do whatever they want with Etinde. But as Etinde is the company's primary asset, per the U.K. Company law, CoC will need 75% shareholder votes to for example sell it. Beware of these individuals with special interest. Some of these folks do not want me to post on these BBs. I am a bit suspicious about their motives. | durby
17/2/2017 21:50 | COC winning is the only hope left for common shareholders. KH has no clear plan other than to roll the dice one more time to see what comes out of it. He had 10 years - while he has pocketed his mega salary, he has hardly created any shareholder value. It is someone else turn to sort out the mess KH has created. | durby
17/2/2017 21:42 | Although I would agree with you. Strongly. I have to say I am hugely surprised by the amount of COC support. Some posters like shak it's not a surprise, but to see some lths (apparently) selling their stake is shocking. For me, if CIC win I have been robbed, but not all of my investment, some of it. Either way I am pretty confident to hold and see it through. | winnet
17/2/2017 21:19 | I think people have too much sense to fall for the Crown offer despite the efforts of some to knock the BOD at every turn.I know all about salaries paid and Harts racehorses but what is more important is the future and having waited so long it seems foolish to conclude that on the basis of what detail Crown have provided I can place my faith in them. | briand2

17/2/2017 19:37 | Top Broker EMU Assets management are now looking at the situation very closely and may play their hand on Monday. Interesting times. | fxl5
17/2/2017 18:23 | Wshak Your welcome and likewise. You almost had me buying back in and i will make sure i never play poker with you as your reasonining is so sharp and thorough that i would doubt my own hand even if i held a straight flush :) The discussion on this board today by everyone has been a pleasure to read both in support of COC or in favour of the BoD. Today shows that bulletin boards CAN still be a place where shareholders come together even in conflicting vision and opinion but in mannered debate. Have a great weekend all :) | le_commissaire
17/2/2017 17:49 | Slip, I was just surprised that they got your phone number. | tli8jaguar
17/2/2017 16:23 | WShak, in what appears to be your pretty exhaustive background check on COC, have you come upon any roughly parallel circumstances to these and, if so, how did they turn out for other shareholders? | warbaby43
17/2/2017 16:20 | Someone is mopping up the sells today. Delayed buy coming I reckon. COC tightening their grip perhaps? Activist shareholders always work wonders. | nick rubens
17/2/2017 16:00 | I cannot help thinking the current churn in trades is playing into COC's hands. I doubt they are going to stop accumulating so will not be surprised to see further TR-1s. I assume the BLVN BOD could buy, if so why not ? | yasrub
17/2/2017 15:43 | Hi le_comm, Thanks for getting back, and the cordiality of your post. This is what I want to focus on, however. To end: My own personal view is that upon a successful outcome for COC and it's now increasing supporters, within the first 7 days, the truth will out and my thoughts on an instant trading suspension will be concreted. This is quite a statement, and it is the picture implied by the current board. However, whenever I ask anyone to firm up the rationale behind that COC will simply steal the money - one that I previously thought COULD happen - I can find no evidence in their background to suggest that they will. To the contrary, they have some serious people who are willing to vouch for them. They simply strike me as investors who have seen an opportunity to buy cheaply into Bowleven's assets, and realise value by kicking out a profligate board. Opportunistic, yes, criminal, no. I don't blame anyone for being suspicious, or selling out based on the unknown. That's a perfectly sensible approach to take. What I'm trying to dig out is whether there is anything of substance behind the assertion that the proposed directors will immediately start shovelling money in the direction of a single shareholder. Eli Chahin may be a restructuring specialist, but where is there any evidence that he's had anything but a successful career? I am not arguing about O&G experience here, but the notion that he would be willing to act as a patsy for COC, whilst they steal the money. Similarly, what is there in Christopher Ashworth's background that would suggest such behaviour? I have been involved in a situation with a small AIM company where fraud took place, and a 20% shareholder stripped out the cash through patsy directors, but those directors were obviously crooks. More importantly, the shares themselves traded at a huge discount to cash, which suggested that insiders knew exactly what was going on, and were selling in droves. The price action in BLVN (surely the best guide?) doesn't reflect this fear - and the Crown Ocean Capital principals are known to plenty of fund managers in the market, who would not hesitate to short the stock. All of my own research paints a picture of these guys being deep value investors, and no more. That may not be ideal, but they aren't required to run the company. There are other employees within Bowleven (not on the board) who should be able to keep it in good standing at minimal cost. @WShak1 | wshak
