Results of AGM
At the Botswana Diamonds plc ("Botswana Diamonds") Annual General Meeting ("AGM"), which was held in London earlier today, all resolutions were duly passed.
Highlights of comments made by James Campbell, Managing Director, following the formal business of the AGM are highlighted below:
v Drilling is planned on four drill ready targets in the Kalahari of Botswana under the company's 100% owned Sunland Minerals. These targets are high grade geophysical anomalies with positive kimberlitic sampling results
v The liquidation of BCL has delayed resolution of the Maibwe JV in Botswana. Two offers have been made to buy out BCL from the project where abundant microdiamonds were found in one of the kimberlite pipes.
v Technology partner Subterrane have outlined five drill ready targets which could be kimberlite pipes on the Thorny River project in South Africa.
v A royalty mining contractor has commenced work on the Marsfontein Mine dumps and gravels, diamonds have been recovered.
v The company has 2.5% of JV with Vast to develop the Chiadzwa Community Diamond concession in the prolific Marange diamond fields.
v Further diamond exploration work will focus on advanced kimberlite projects in Zimbabwe and the Free State kimberlite field in South Africa in addition to acquiring fresh licenses in the Kalahari of Botswana.
This release has been approved by James Campbell, Managing Director of Botswana Diamonds plc, a qualified geologist (Pr.Sci.Nat), a Fellow of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Metals and Mining (UK) and with over 33-years' experience in the diamond sector.
