So back to that bizarre valuation being bandied around for DBZ MARKETPLACE ONLINE LTD trading as DEBENHAMS BRANDS LIMITED.

Company number 13135555

According to Companies House, the latest Financial Accounts for DBZ MARKETPLACE ONLINE LTD upto 28 Feb 2024 have NOT been submitted and are now OVERDUE !!
(They should have been submitted BEFORE 30 Nov 2024)

So let's crunch the numbers that we do have:

To Feb 2023, Debenhams reported sales £87,100,000

To Feb 2023, Debenhams reported an annual loss of £721,000

To Feb 2023, Debenhams reported Negative Equity in the business of £10,390,000

Now, it goes without saying that any business is only worth, what someone else is willing to pay for it, on the open market.

Back in Jan 2021, Boohoo PLC paid £55 Million for the Debenhams brand name, customer base and intellectual property rights, which was far too much.

Quite frankly now, as a "desperate and forced Seller", Boohoo PLC will have to be incredibly lucky if it manages to get £55 Million for the business, and breakeven.

Inditex reports disappointing third-quarter sales data

Zara owner Inditex posted a disappointing miss on third-quarter sales.

Sales of 9.36 Billion euros came in below the 9.51 Billion expected by analysts. An 8.5% rise in nine-month net profit to 4.44 Billion euros also lagged the 4.52 Billion expected by analysts.

Clothing sales in Spain overall fell 2.8% in November as Black Friday promotions failed to attract enough shoppers, according to fashion retailers' association Acotex.

It seems like Boohoo's new Chief Executive, Dan Finley is clueless and can't read or understand a set of Financial Accounts, if he thinks DBZ MARKETPLACE ONLINE LTD trading as DEBENHAMS BRANDS LIMITED is worth £400 Million.

There is hardly a long queue of potential Buyers lining up to acquire the Debenhams business and everybody knows that Boohoo PLC is a distressed Seller, desperate to raise cash.
