05/9/2004 23:46 | Edmond j I beg your pardon Edmond,I am a shareholder.I meant the company.Having said that,have you ever reccomended this share? | treborbob
05/9/2004 13:48 | treborbob, Kindly be specific in your charge how shareholders appear "devious". I feel it is devious the way the ATL directors have a history of presenting imminent breakthrough with two-way contracts, also a sound and growing business in the US, each time they need to raise money. Each time, within a few months, such prospects have fizzled out - and as we can see from the annual report the "business" is replete with problems. Various holders appear to have clear objectives: to hold those responsible for all this, accountable, and as judged necessary to see them removed from office. There is nothing underhand or deviating about that! | edmondj
05/9/2004 13:14 | Is it a bluff or a bail out? Due to what appears to be the deviuosness of almost everyone involved in this share.I am not going to give it any thought. | treborbob
03/9/2004 20:54 | Everyone agrees it is a sorry situation! | edmondj
03/9/2004 16:47 | someone dumped 400k right before the agm, say they bought at 25p thats an £80k loss, does someone know something we don't? | richpoorkid
03/9/2004 14:01 | lord.r, edmond No, I am not going, but my doppelganger is.........much nastier than me!! | bill.slygo
03/9/2004 11:27 | Does this company now merit serious investor attention, or are we not now kicking around the proverbial 'tiny provincial tech', where regrettably management has failed to capitalise on the technology opportunity? Sadly, I see it likely that the shares bump around in a low price range, with more mega share option grants - which will mean some people do quite well if/when a bid is arranged. There is still an off-chance of a 'phoenix from the ashes' if Cap'n Morgan gets things ship-shape. | edmondj
03/9/2004 11:19 | Edmond Hope you're not there on your own as you will have to eat the whole packet yourself!Check the tea first though for that almond taste especially if the tealady calls herself Claire!Am sure you are a "troublesome priest" they would like to see the back of. Apparently the Directors lunch menu has replaced the usual caviar and Krug with corn beef hash and iron bru due to cost cutting! They need to lose some weight anyway after all those foreign holidays. Presumably you will comment first on Citywire as you will not meet the deadline for the Telegraph on 12th Sept? | lord r
03/9/2004 10:15 | I will go along as I've part-paid for the Ironmongers Hall! CAN WE HAVE NICE DUNKING BISCUITS PLEASE, WHILE THE DIRECTORS ARE ENJOYING THEIR CITY LUNCH!!! | edmondj
03/9/2004 10:12 | Bill Are you attending the AGM? | lord r
01/9/2004 15:31 | I seem to remember there was some poor sod of a fund manager taking notes. Wonder how many of them lost their jobs in relation to this company, besides private investors their shirts? Howell's presence could indeed be provocative, also Spottiswoode, if and when Bill turns up with sword, armour and codpiece. | edmondj
01/9/2004 15:24 | Edmond Always take shorthand notes! I'm sure what they meant was a £4 million loss and a £10 million decrease in cash in the cashflow forecaste. I'm sure Gus, our a friend from the North, and will be there for a spot of action. What's the betting Howell is absent with a bad cold? Or post traumatic stress disorder? | lord r
01/9/2004 15:03 | The road to .... is paved with good intentions! I don't know who is Gus Williamson but do understand the Ironmongers Hall has some fine codpieces as well as armour and swords! I am trying to recall if the assurances about World Bank funding were made at the presentation when investors were given the projection of at least £10 million turnover delivering profits in 2003 and £4 million profit this year. | edmondj
01/9/2004 14:53 | Edmond If ATL is to be believed the Ghanians intent is not in doubt-just the slight problem of finding the money!!Was this ever a World bank Funded project or was this another little yarn in order to add credence? Notice the World bank has given Ghana $148 Million for some Sanitization programme.Surely a little could be siphoned off to get this little project off the ground? Looks like you, Bill and Gus Williamson will have to perform your 3 musketeers act at the AGM! | lord r
01/9/2004 09:18 | Edmond Why give him a bonus-cheaper to give him more share options!!! I am only guessing about Ghana.Don't think it will happen this year if at all. They may be giving the Company the run around, who knows? Are there elections in the Country this year? If he does pull something off some shareholders may forgive and he may yet attend the Jellicle Cats Ball! Why do you think he is being retained? | lord r
31/8/2004 21:28 | lord r, You seem to have a close understanding of matters. Do you believe that Howell will be offered a bonus in addition to a six figure salary, by Spottiswoode, if he closes a contract for Ghana? After shareholders have been repeatedly shafted and told to cough up otherwise lose all? | edmondj
31/8/2004 11:35 | Bill, I agree entirely with what you say.I would be surprised that Institutions had not demanded Howell's head on the block.Perhap's the lack of any resignation at present has more to do with the Ghana contact which Howell has been involved with for the last few years. This contract was held up for many reasons not just technological, with changes in the Ghana Water Company and the Government necessitating AVT having to get to know and develop trust with new individuals.I doubt if Greg Morgan has been to Ghana more that a couple of times if at all. In this part of the world and especially in Asia personal relationships are key and take time to rebuild if personnel are replaced.I concede i am guessing here but this may hold the key to Howell's current survival. I don't buy the theory that he and Spottyface are being retained because "they know too much" as the same would apply to all the other Directors who have resigned in recent years. | lord r
29/8/2004 18:29 | shortashare, I commend your namesake to follow these people in quoted plc life; you are likely to do very well where they are involved! | edmondj
29/8/2004 17:13 | Lets assume all at AVT has not been above board, perhaps spotswood and howell know too much and have to be kept on. My guess is that some of them wont be collecting £200. Read into that what you want. | shortashare
28/8/2004 08:55 | bekka, Never mind about the US share markets, it is the US customer base that bothers me also lack of satisfactory disclosure on the product warranty issues. Since all this has never been presented properly, how can we be sure further litigation is not brewing? Is Howell still involved with the US and what do customers think? Forget foresight versus hindsight, just what the hell is going on?! | edmondj
