03/7/2017 13:21 | I was thinking the same thing but if you are not aware it could be one of the three state run tel companies or a bigger company. It's big but how big. Could tie up nicely next year with the lottery may being brought back on line through only certain channels | genises
03/7/2017 12:43 | Could this new telco deal be with someone like China Telecom? Government owned, so could be a nice fit with other deals BNN has negotiated. 800+ million mobile users!! Dreaming again!! | newmanontheblock
03/7/2017 11:27 | Thanks ayesha4. Me and my dreaming!! | newmanontheblock

03/7/2017 11:07 | Agree Newman 50,000 sale 8am allowed MM to drop the price 5% and hope they can pick up some cheap stock . Looked like little stock around on Friday . Expect a good week coming up high 60s - 70s is my hope . | charlesdarcy
03/7/2017 09:58 | Topaz. Agree. These are low volume spreads. Anything large, and price has to be a lot higher. | newmanontheblock
03/7/2017 09:05 | topaz, you have been saying that since 80p. and incase you had forgotten you yourself fell into your own 'trap' did you not and sold despite ' topping up'(averaging down)on the way? | pj 1

30/6/2017 21:47 | There’s a technical issue, too. Apple Pay relies on near-field communication technology to transmit encrypted information. Most Chinese customers are accustomed to simpler QR codes that can be easily produced and used by any small business. Chinese businesses interested in adopting Apple Pay must invest in NFC scanners. Apple would have done better to focus on China’s regional trends rather than develop the payment service for a global market, says Kitty Fok, managing director of the China group at the market research firm International Data Corporation. For example, Apple Pay lagged behind Chinese competitors in providing promotions timed with the Chinese cultural tradition of exchanging red envelopes (“hong bao”) filled with money during the Lunar New Year. That was a “missed opportunity,” argues Fok, during the biggest Chinese holiday season. “I honestly don’t think Apple understands the local culture enough to achieve local penetration,” Fok says. | genises
30/6/2017 21:33 | The other scenario comes from Oppenheimer analyst Andrew Uerkwitz and his team. In a note titled "Fading 'Reality Distortion Field,'" they said the unique dominance of certain Chinese apps hurts Apple. Those apps are fully functional on Android, which dominates China, but not on iPhone. Apple doesn't allow Tencent users to use the tipping function inside WeChat, for instance. That won't sound like a big deal to people in the West, but in China apps like WeChat are used almost ubiquitously. It has 1 billion users. The Oppenheimer note — based on conversations with Apple's own suppliers — says: "We recently conducted a series of company meetings in China and Taiwan that focused on the smartphone supply chain. There was general consensus among our conversations that confirms our thesis that Apple's dwindling market share in Greater China is due to the lack of compelling differentiation among hardware and software. The mobile user experience in China is heavily dictated by Tencent and other local Internet companies, making Apple's software and services ineffective as key differentiators. That said, we do believe there is pent-up demand for iPhone 8, which is widely reported to make a few major design changes. We expect a temporary rebound in share." | genises
30/6/2017 21:19 | Their is one company who is having problems in china. Trust has been lost. A joint partnership with apple would be interesting. Or one of the three state Chinese telecom companies. One year behind what we were expecting this year. But some big deals have happened with in the year and we know of one to be announced and no doubt we will see the insurance companies and advertising companies jumping on board. | genises
30/6/2017 21:18 | PC. Thanks for your thoughts. I'ts never easy attending AGM's and asking awkward questions, especially if you are on your own, however IMO if I can follow your paragraphs- '' Andy, its a question of when they finally took the decision to put Nasdaq on hold.'' I disagree. I strongly believe the Chairman was not content to follow the news flow and has stuck his heels in. However, maybe an under promise over deliver statement has been mad in regards to the Nasdaq? ''For the numbers''- They definitely have Q1 numbers , Id also say definitely month 4 and maybe month 5. They have chosen not to mention these numbers when questioned for a reason. ''PR''. Why do they need PR? They obviously have avery strong PI following and II support. Why would they need more? They have issued so many RNS's, much more than the average Company. Is this increased PR going to include Vox markets and Proactive Investors? i.e. we all know what follows those. ''Cash'' Yes they are cash rich currently. However they have clearly stated they are increasing staffing levels considerably, and are having to ''invest'' in more R&D. So whilst the balance sheet looks good now, in the future? IMO they are already laying the ground works for another placing end 2017/ spring 2018. What the share price will be then I have no clue but suspect HY will not give much away as they can claim they are ''in line'' as its so heavily H2 weighted. I look forward to your response.... | pj 1

30/6/2017 19:10 | Q12 Yes thanks for your input. Strictly speaking I wouldn't say that was a summary of their 'strengths and weakness' but a very fair recent performance summary generally. IMO the Chairman was not prepared to support the Nasdaq updates which has forced the BoD TO put out a more realistic possible outcome. | pj 1
30/6/2017 19:04 | Q12, Thanks for a respectful reply, and I agree with all of that just about. I agree they must have known about NASDAQ before the AGM, so they should have announced it, and be done with it. It's not the end of the world. They are not releasing any figures, and that's a concern, IMO. What are "modest margins" in numbers? Why hide the numbers? They are saying in effect, "trust us", it would be so much easier with some real numbers to go on. Do they have a PR team? it's hard to believe if they do. They have plenty of cash, so no concerns on that front, and people seemed impressed with the new chairman, who is American, and they don't suffer fools, so he'll be a no messing sort of guy I would imagine. | andy |
