Rio Tinto reported underlying EBITDA for its Energy & Minerals group was US$1.04 billion in 1H 2018. Performance was impacted by the suspension of operations at Rio Tinto Fer et Titane (RTFT) following a fatality, and at Richards Bay Minerals (RBM) due to ongoing disruptions by contractors and their employees. Gross sales revenues for the product group were US$2.86 billion. Underlying demand for titanium dioxide strengthened in 1H 2018. High-grade feedstock supply remains tight.

TBC: there's a big photo gallery at the foot of the Dundas section on the website, including several I have not seen previously. Unfortunately they are neither titled nor dated so we cannot be sure which if any are from the present season. If anyone is in close touch with JAY perhaps we could ask for an update with dates and titles?

What I would like to see are some pictures of the men and machines being put to work. some real honest work in progress photos. its all well and good seeing the stuff being delivered but unless I now the hammers are swinging and the machines are moving I don't know that there is any real progress being made. what are your thoughts guys?

I agree R! with us being as far progressed as we are paperwork wise and with the enormity of what we will be able to exploit once the final box is ticked known, we must have a major or 2 looking at us. Of Course we do. but just as surely they will keep their powder dry until that last box is ticked?

Has anyone commented on Rios results out earlier, I’ve been preoccupied? But their results were good on the whole, up 33% or so
Except Fers et Titane- that had a dreadful time, a tragic accident, Wage negotiations
were ongoing.
They are our obvious partner in terms of Ilmenite in my opinion. well located, we are right at the end of our licensing process, years ahead of any who even fantasise about
opening up this province.
I don’t have a clue what talks are ongoing, but surely there must be some movement I would have thought?
At some point this amount of accessible mineral will get taken out - that’s my feeling.

Lol Lex - no - the weather. Already the journos have been whining on about the terrible rain we have had. There will be some snow and they will be in a right tizzy
Have a good trip whilst the rest of us mind the shop.

Hello Snowy,

As I am now traveling in the Far East, I hope you were not referring to me with that statement. I will return in mid August.
Mm

I might be sticking my neck out, and although there are some sellers knocking about, the price seems to be holding up well and gradually increasing again. I reckon the share price recovery has started and I would be very very surprised if we saw the likes of 20p again.

You will likewise complain when the Beast of the East returns or whatever other expression the media pundits come up with which they believe that they know but which the rest of us knows they don't know.

Now if you understand that you are a far better person than me!! Tell your trouble that I disagree.

Mustn't grumble Snowyflake, however I'm finding this hot spell of weather particularly oppressive, especially whilst sat at my desk. I've ditched the Tommy Nutter suits for a far more comfortable tailored shorts/country club casual look. The missus thinks I look like a right prat.....she may have a point actually. Best wishes.

Yes I know - with more to come if I understand the tweet correctly. Hope all is well with you. Good to see the team at Dundas beavering away (or rather crabbing away) collecting lots of goodies.

The large trade doesn't necessarily have to be a sale. It could be a cross of stock between accounts, or there could be a couple of trades to be printed later that might be related to it. Either way, my stock is tucked away and can see no reason why there shouldn't be a bid at some point further down the line.

So, with a 1.78M sale just posted an no impact on today's share price shows there has been a worked sale by the MM's and hence the share price depression over the last few days but who's selling? A previous post suggested there was a shortage of stock but clearly not. Anyway, at least today there is a little strength appearing albeit with a large seller around. Here's hoping for something newsworthy in August.
