03/11/2017 14:13 | hmmmmmmm a good point made here by wayne...... wayneJ Issues with Crypto:..... (1) Cost per transaction - I have seen estimates that cost per transaction is now over $20; (2) Speed of transaction processing (15mins?) (3) Capacity -limited (big payment systems deal with 1000x more transactions per sec) (4) Confidentiality of trades - as the blockchain is published there is no confidentiality - if u buy something in my coffee shop I can work out your address and therefore all other transactions you have done (5) Remediation - transactions do not cost - it is fixin broken ones that cost - who does that for Bitcoin et al ==================== I was thinking exactly the same things. | 3rd eye
03/11/2017 14:07 | Do you mean NXX ?. otherwise no not listed under the 1,200 crypto market. Is it unregulated?. if it is take note of this....... Virtual currencies are in a different category, because they provide their own unit of account and payment systems. These systems allow for peer-to-peer transactions without central clearinghouses, without central banks. For now, virtual currencies such as Bitcoin pose little or no challenge to the existing order of fiat currencies and central banks. Why? Because they are too volatile, too risky, too energy intensive, and because the underlying technologies are not yet scalable. Many are too opaque for regulators; and some have been hacked. 03/11/2017 10:05 | It does sound like a viable theory bdog and hopefully we will smell burning very shortly. We just need some news to light the match.:-) | doodlebug4
03/11/2017 08:18 | Couple of interesting posts on LSE this morning suggesting that Beaufort have been selling down their placing stock, and that they went further and sold down more than they held and so were not covered. Suggestion is that they are short by approx 3% of BLU stock. If this is true, then they are 'naked short' and want the price lower so they can buy back the borrowed shares at as low an share price as possible. Also mentioned is the implication 'we going to smell burning shortly!' I'm not sure if this is true but it seems a viable theory -anyone? There has to be some explanation of the 'over-selling' that we've seen here recently? | bdog51

02/11/2017 22:54 | IoT Blockchain Platform Company NetObjex Unveils Dynamic Electric Vehicle Charging NetObjex, an IoT blockchain platform company, recently held demonstrations showcasing what they believe is the future of electric vehicle charging using the IOTA tangle and MIOTA (MIOTA/USD) as a method of payment. The solution involved the electric vehicle in question changing to a lane that was dedicated for electronic charging, and how micropayments would be transacted through IOTA. “This proof of concept highlights key issues such as inter-device communication across trust boundaries, and how that can be overcome through the use of decentralized networks,” said Raghu Bal, CEO of NetObjex. It also enabled us to explore last-mile communication options between devices, and how micropayments can be handled.” NetObjex also announced this coupled with partnership agreements with both IOTA, and the International Transportation Innovation Center (ITIC). The ITIC is responsible for testbeds for innovations in sustainable vehicle technology, and blockchains are a hot topic now due to the increase in their adoption across all verticals. It doesn’t come as a surprise that the workshops demonstrating the proof of concept were held in Florida and California. The states hold the number one and number five spots respectively for electronic vehicle sales in the United States. This proof of concept provides a solution to not only identify the object being charged (the car) in a unique way, but also establishes the entire stack of operations to process payments in a trustless manner. The importance of MIOTA is the fact that there is no transaction fee in the microtransactions that are being processed. Though it’s only a concept at the moment, it’s another demonstration of a potential real-world use-case for IOTA‘s tangle. www.investfeededge.c | doodlebug4

02/11/2017 14:19 | All those sells and the price goes up a bit? (1.6%) Maybe they've found a buyer to match the seller as soon as he sells? Given that they're all trades, both a buys and sells at about the same time. It's just that the market isn't being flooded with more than it can absorb at any one time. Somebody from the oversubscribed placing stepping in to soak them up? Just a thought. | thegrumpster

02/11/2017 12:23 | IOTA’s goal is to allow value and data to be exchanged and transferred freely between these elements, allowing any IoT-enabled device, appliance, or vehicle to be used or rented in an efficient and trustless way. The data provided by devices can also be bought and sold through the IOTA network. This concept allows the distributed economy movement to evolve in such a way that anyone will be able to make the most out of their belongings. In short, IOTA acts as a backbone for the exchange of value on the IoT paradigm in which devices produce value for their owner and not the other way around. | doodlebug4 |
