11/9/2017 23:00 | Seems we have to many diddies who don't know difference between cryptocurrencies and tangle 3rd generation blockchain... Hardly any point posting anymore until co. Lift up the stage curtain to show next act... | comedy
11/9/2017 22:38 | (Not sure if O/T) Iota survived its first real cryptohack today. "The attempted fork attack on the tangle was successfully averted". Further proof that Iota is secure.. From a post on reddit earlier: -this makes me want to buy more. The mere fact that IOTA has been attacked so much recently from multiple attacks on the network, FUD articles attacking the project to even 4chan trying to brigade against it. This shows me one thing, this project is a REAL threat to some people and is disruptive to an already disruptive technology like blockchain. | bdog51

11/9/2017 20:49 | Perhaps there will be a news release in the morning and the website has the incorrect date? 26 September is quite a long way off. | doodlebug4
11/9/2017 20:42 | Observers of the Chinese cryptocurrency scene are optimistic that a crackdown on exchanges, even if it were to come, will only damage the industry in the short term. “Exchanges are not what give value to blockchain assets like bitcoin. It is the intrinsic technology and numerous applications who play decisive roles,” says Eric Zhao, an engineer at the Chinese Academy of Sciences who operates the widely followed CNLedger Twitter account. “From an investment aspect, while short-term speculators might find it harder to trade, long term investors are not that affected. Just inconvenience for the most part.” | simpletonremover

11/9/2017 16:45 | I think the IOTA thread is mostly for the people who have invested in the currency. If/when SatoshiPay's PoC with IOTA is finally completed then the technology underpinning IOTA will be very relevant to SatoshiPay and BLU, but I'll stop posting these IOTA links in future. | doodlebug4

11/9/2017 14:31 | Analysis of ethics surrounding the reports When writing the blog post, Narula and her team failed to disclose things that would have affected how people reacted. Aside from the small issue where Narula incorrectly mentioned that the bundle size of IOTA was 10KB and not 1.6KB (which was not relevant to the paper anyway), there are inaccuracies and misrepresentations throughout the report (and subsequently the Forbes article) and unprofessionalism from the MIT-DCI team. | doodlebug4

10/9/2017 23:02 | Dominik Schiener @DomSchiener 3h3 hours ago IOTA explained in a large Italian news outlet (I guess they could mention that I'm Italian :P) … via @moneypuntoit icon calendar 10 September 2017 - 08:54 icon Michela del Nido IOTA: What it is, how it works and why it is different from all other cryptovalutes What is IOTA, how does this cryptography work and what is different from the others? All you have to know. What is IOTA? For many people is a revolutionary technology designed for the Internet of Things. For less serious traders or technology lovers, IOTA is just another altcoin. But for the moment it is an altcoin that you are gaining the curiosity (and favor) of investors. But let's see in detail what IOTA is, how it works and what's different from other cryptovalutes. What is IOTA IOTA is a Criptovalute designed for the Internet of Things. Compared to other Blockchain coins, IOTA has (at least) four major benefits: it is scalable, decentralized, modular and non-taxing. It is available on the main digital currency exchange platform, Bitfinex. Like all the other cryptovalutes, IOTA also followed the market trend of critpomonete: it dropped to peak next to Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) in July. The volume of exchange was again up in early August, with the price rising again. In the world of cryptovalutes it is hard to make suppositions: IOTA could come up thanks to investor confidence in the technology behind the product. Like many other cryptovalues, even IOTA has a single function and purpose to be precise, although it works using different technologies compared to most digital coins. PUBLICITY How IOTA works IOTA has been structured to help the machines communicate and establish transitions without commissions. All this allows the Internet of Things to Exist. But let's see how IOTA works and how it relates to the Internet of Things. IOTA is really very different from any other digital currency. Instead of using a blockchain, use a master book that is referred to as The Tangle. The reason why the IOTA team uses the Tangle rather than the normal blockchain technology is explained on their website: "Bitcoin's success over the last six years has proven the value of blockchain technology. However, this type of technology also has disadvantages that prevent the blockchain from being used as the only cryptographic platform. Among these disadvantages is the impossibility of making micro payments, which has become increasingly important in the rapid development of the Internet of Things " On the IOTA website, the team also emphasized that IOTA was created to scale, unlike Bitcoin or Ethereum, that are structured to address these issues. Apart from this climbing ability, IOTA has also doubled the uniqueness of the token itself. "Unity", in this case, means mining: IOTA does not need miners to operate, since it has the ability to self-keep, operating in a self-regulating context. This is something that attracts a lot of investors, quite perplexed by the mining procedure. PUBLICITY To summarize, there are two major innovations of IOTA: Usage: IOTA is used as a technology that allows machines to communicate. It can process micro-transactions without commissions, which no other digital currency can do; Functionality: IOTA works using a technology called "Tangle". It is not a blockchain technology but a decentralized registry that automatically adjusts. It does not include mining processes. money.it | doodlebug4 |
