The Chinese are involved in alot of projects in Georgia already and that is the most likely outcome. The question is when, and how does Project 3 rank alongside other projects the Chinese are looking at.

Also it is well known that the gas is there, the challenge is to get it out.

The key point here is that the CPR puts a minimum economic value on the project III resources of $227m and a high end valuation of $745m, with plenty more to come from the other project areas. That’s enough to attract an oil major or at least a significant regional player like SOCAR or one of the bigger Turkish players, but my money’s on a Chinese takeaway given their recent strategic agreement with Georgia and the latter’s Ministers and advisory team spending a whole week out in Beijing recently.

The lack of interest with this share always baffles me. No instu interest for a long time. PIs finding quick profits elsewhere. Going to take a farmout to see a modest rise.

Well there you go. Nice to see my prediction coming in.

Market reaction today is irrelevant as it’s not the stock market that will be buying this but Big Oil. Let’s not forget that the starting gun for a farmout was fired at the Turkish oil and gas conference back in December, so it should not take long for interested parties to move in for the kill now, and publication of the CPR will increase the competitive tension between them.

A few punters are selling into the news. The share price will fall back again.

There's nothing in that RNS that is not already known.

The only news that will move this is drilling activity or farm out. Neither of which is happening.

But no farmout yet. Any rerate will come after they get their farmout. So how long will that take is the big question. It could take months.
