gosh, that is all we need, a statement from Deloitte saying why they resigned as auditors, resurrecting a debate on the validity of the blinkx accounts

if they have to do it then hopefully it will be as anodyne as possible, if that is even possible at this late stage, now this is going to compete for headlines with the launch of rhythm1

Blinkx seem to be adept at shooting themselves in the foot lately, at times like this I am sorry that ML ever left the board

Change of auditor.

MCPrice on the LSE bulletin board suggested appointment of auditors was covered by Company Law.

I've had a quick look and from a non-expert reading it looks to me as though we may soon get a statement (from Deloitte) as to why Deloitte has left, which may help to set everyone's mind at rest. From section 489 of the 2006 Companies Act it looks as though the only way blinkx could have appointed PWC through the year would be if a "casual vacancy" arose - i.e. they would have had to persuade Deloitte to resign and then they could appoint PWC to fill the vacancy. Section 519 then says that, for a quoted public company, the old auditors must make a statement concerning the circumstances surrounding their departure. Section 520 says the company has to circulate that statement to everyone to whom it must send the annual accounts (so presumably it will appear on the website) within 14 days of receiving it - and they should have received it with Deloitte's resignation.

First link is to summary of the companies act, second link is to KPMG document on changing auditors - page 9 is the page to read.

This post is a non-expert view - please correct if you feel it is not accurate.

That cunning plan in place and those naughty MM's are just a little bewildered.

I see new rags appear as if by magic to bash any positive thought - negativity is fine, but I prefer to be positive.

We can all lose a race - not many could win one, especially shaped like a lump of lard!

ADVFN with their well known short players, run on negativity - unfortunately for them they are out of gas on this stock! lol

•Patience: Perhaps the hardest thing of all for people who are, by their nature, very impatient, is the need for patience. Ecosystems take time, success takes time, building companies takes time. It’s good to be self-critical and to ask how your city is doing vs. others but be sure not to do this so much that you’re really just navel gazing and don’t let the pundits who need a new story every month get you down – this will take time to get right.
