08/12/2011 14:35 | oggyrocks "Dont hold. Not going to buy" So this is entertainment for you? | hyper al
08/12/2011 14:33 | RNS - Henderson Global Investors have just sold some 4m shares, so who is buying? | hyper al
08/12/2011 14:32 | OK Bank of Scotland are full of idiots. Not de-ramping. Dont care what happens. Dont hold. Not going to buy. Good luck and hope you get it right. | oggyrocks
08/12/2011 14:19 | oggyrocks "RBS are full of idiots anyway." You are not even getting the facts right, RBS is not the bank involved, if you are going to deramp, at least get your facts correct! | hyper al
08/12/2011 14:03 | Barretts in administration, who next? | clocktower
08/12/2011 14:01 | Just trying to save you from wasting your money. Will all be over soon anyway. | oggyrocks
08/12/2011 13:41 | Completely agree with Hyper.. Remember Ashley was trying to buy Blacks recently at a much higher price. Over 300 stores, esctablished trading name, able to integrate into Sports Direct, its a no brainer, just a question of what level he comes in at, then straight in with his own management team. Hyper Al - 8 Dec'11 - 13:27 - 339 of 344 oggyrocks Why would Bank of Scotland allow it to go into administration, when the bank is acting for both Sports Direct and Blacks? Would be a bit stupid taking the loss, if they could put a rescue package together. Maybe the end for Millets, but not Blacks. | howard112
08/12/2011 13:40 | from the list of major shareholders, there are 2 suppliers Pentland (berghaus, speedo etc.) VF Corporation (north face, timberland etc.) did they buy in or did they take shares in lieu of payment at some point? | jpjp100
08/12/2011 13:38 | Why would ashley want to take on 36m in debt when he can cherry pick the stock at knock down prices. RBS are full of idiots anyway. They lent the money to Blacks and that debt is now toxic. | oggyrocks
08/12/2011 13:36 | You can be sure Ashley is all over this today! | howard112
08/12/2011 13:33 | jpjp100 That is happening now with Millets. Think we will remain listed, while this process takes place. IMHO, DYOR | hyper al
08/12/2011 13:32 | notice that barratts has been running a 50% off sale on its website recently too.... | jpjp100
08/12/2011 13:31 | I expect the SPD team is polishing up its assessment of the BSLA assetts, with a view to cherry picking to end up with all the good bits and as few bad bits as possible. | jpjp100
08/12/2011 13:27 | oggyrocks Why would Bank of Scotland allow it to go into administration, when the bank is acting for both Sports Direct and Blacks? Would be a bit stupid taking the loss, if they could put a rescue package together. Maybe the end for Millets, but not Blacks. Sports Direct is making good profits, so even easier to do a deal with the bank. Considering the challenging retail conditions, I would think BoS are quite impressed with Sports Direct and will do all they can to help them grow and at the same time reduce loss and risk n the banks investment in Blacks. And as you say Blacks is a good brand and has good staff, that are certainly worth retaining. | hyper al
08/12/2011 12:05 | clocktower Blacks has been here before, back in the early 1980's. It's a survivor, think we can probably say goodbye to Millets Barrats shoes just gone into liquidation. | hyper al
08/12/2011 11:57 | Hyper Al, Before long I doubt it will even be listed and the share price will be 0. | clocktower
08/12/2011 11:53 | 50+% off? Might go looking for a pair of hiking boots then but I was sadly disappointed by the range last time | sir rational
08/12/2011 11:06 | clocktower I think the directors are suggesting that shareholder value is down at these prices, i.e if you purchased at higher prices you may not see those levels again howard112 well Sports Direct is buying shares at this level | hyper al
08/12/2011 11:02 | Sponge Spob I had a quote to sell@1.92 and buy @2.02 DYOR | strutt12
08/12/2011 11:01 | The most likely event will be Ashley picking this up for next to nothing, question is how much will he pay! But will likely to a premium on todays prices, so its a punt! | howard112
08/12/2011 10:59 | Clocktower Someone forgot to tell Mike Ashley!!!! Mike has wanted Blacks for some time now, the only problem is the suppliers don't want him, although if he can be in control from behind the scene it's a win win???? Can you remember when he ran his own companies share price down to 30p??? they were the day's to make lots of money and now I've got a bite of the cherry yet again!!!!!! DYOR IMHO | strutt12
08/12/2011 10:52 | The directors have already stated that they accept there is little if any shareholder value left - so bar the likes of Sports Direct buying this is worthless. BEWARE. | clocktower |
