25/11/2011 07:31 | Trading statement today! Retail sector is getting hammered. | hyper al
24/11/2011 23:40 | 2magpies Just shows how dire the retail sector is. I have looked at their footwear and it looks cheap compared with all their competitors even with just 25% off, but current 40% is a real bargain | hyper al
24/11/2011 21:50 | Hyper Been in to Blacks Whilst there are serious reductions, not everything's a bargain: some of the stuff should never have been at the price it was. It was just 'label-flogging'. Taking the customers for a ride. That's now come to an end. To do 25% off one day, and then increase discount to a 1/3rd the next day is not attacking the opposition: it is panic/desperation. This is what one normally sees in closing down sales. In the last days it will be "80% off, everything must go" -- but all the good stuff would already have gone. The reson why it was 1/3rd off the next day was because even the 25% discount didn't tempt buyers sufficiently. | 2magpies
24/11/2011 21:26 | jpjp100 That is what the opposition would say, they are under attack! | hyper al
24/11/2011 21:16 | just ever such a slight aroma of panic imo | jpjp100

24/11/2011 16:00 | Just thought of a tag line for Peter Storm... Peter Storm - you wouldn't want to wear it in a storm | somfawa
24/11/2011 15:33 | targatarga It's like a lot of places: they trade on their name, but the merchandise itself can be just poop. Rubbishy stuff get a label stuck on. No one's gettinmg taken in by that anymore. Deep discounting shows how horribly overpriced much of the stuff was. | 2magpies
24/11/2011 15:09 | Popped into local milletts at lunchtime. All the popular mens sizes of wal;king boots/shoes have gone. Surprised how poorly made some of the peter storm jackets are... A few things still available in bulk.... camping gas canisters etc..... | targatarga
24/11/2011 13:56 | CreditChecker What the heck is that based on, no rule to say it can't issue more shares, you can keep diluting down, nothing to stop that from happening, just the person who takes the risk gets a big chunk of shares and % in company, which is what you would expect. | hyper al |
