The spread tightened to only a couple of pence today so I bought some earlier. The ex-dividend day is Thursday and the discount has gone way up again to the 14%-15% range. A very small investment trust but a good play on the UK markets. better than an ETF at this discount. The downside is the lack of liquidity and the spread which is usually large.

I could not resist buying some this morning at 182.5p
I know the spread is big but a 15% discount to the net asset value is historically very high for this trust.

The NAV is now 200.7p so the discount to NAV is now 14.3% at the buy price just now of 172p.

I can only buy at 172p with Hargreaves Lansdowne. My other brokers aren't giving me an online quote.

I had an investment in JUKG which wound up from a similar discount as this. So I have just put the proceeds here. Portfolio looks ok so it'll either rise to a more reasonable discount or it will end up being wound up too.

It is cheap in comparison with UK equity trusts in general. I looked at a few such as EDIN and TMPL and the discount to NAV tends to be 5% or less. The downside with BRIG is the spread which is 3.5% currently. However with the discount at over 13% I can live with that.

My IQ was 88. Not bad, given I wasn't reading the questions, and was answering randomly. That means I'm less that 1 standard deviation below the average - average being 100, SD for IQ tests 15, I believe.

I was also told the following:
