Obviously not there yet but as a showcase of what will be possible in the not too distant future, it’s eye-opening.
The rejection factor is interesting, who decides what is and isn’t acceptable? Would a picture of someone eating a pork chop be rejected for example?
It’s a push to charge for what is still very much a beta product but it shows that once elevate.io is up and running as a player in the market, that there’s definitely bucks to be made. |
AI video from Adobe definitely not ready for charging
8 minutes of your time and you can see Adobe’s new video AI capabilities |
yes, their branding is very slick |
I’m back buying Starting to like their email updates So be it |
Pokerchips Sony Yes maybe partner they did it many years ago 10-15years but it was early days
The direction of travel is all pro cameras will have some connection to Cloud.
See Adobe Frame.io Camera to Cloud is the slogan
Slightly different market at the moment but hopefully Pro and enterprise level it will be a feature |

Yes..very true ...but... what about the different lenses you would ordinarily use on a camera for zoom, telephoto, wide angle, fisheye and focus etc etc..
You wouldn’t film on a phone you would use a pro camera and connect to phone for upload for file transfer |

Thanks ... and when needed you can always add a mobile microphone with a windjammer so the audio from speech gets even better ..
Indeed it is amazing what is now possible...
cheers |
poker/hyper When spark comes on the scene lots of things become possible. content uploads (to google/apple) can be echoed back to u immediately as a URLs. from there u can do basic top / tail editing and forward all within spark. so the concert scenario will be very easy to do without a need for native apps. |

Do you think Sony would add Elevate to their Pro Portal at some point ?..they currently have plug-in into Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid MediaCentral |
"I mentioned it before but just again, tick the desktop site in chrome on your phone and you can login into elevate and upload."
yup - just a bit of responsive styling could rejig the app to offer just the upload features. google / apple already manage uploading tho - so elevate i expect/hope will prioritise plugging into cloud storage. mobile app not a priority atm imo. |
Pokerchips2 "yes..very true ...but... what about the different lenses you would ordinarily use on a camera for zoom, telephoto, wide angle, fisheye and focus etc etc.."
Well if you look at the concert video I posted earlier, you can see that great results can be achieved including good quality zoom and image stabilisation within the phone. I am particularly pleased with the sound quality from my phone. Some excellent lens attachments for phones these days as well. |
I think that's a really good point NickB.
The future of newsrooms will be pretty much like that. Mobile reporter uploads footage to the cloud. Newsroom edits it in a matter of minutes.
Hundreds of subclips then might come from that clip....from the player of course :)
Alternatively, if you want to make news reporting your job.
Mobile reporter films the 'master footage'. Uploads to the cloud. Then get royalties via crypto smart contract anytime anybody clips footage from your master. On a pay per second or pay per frame basis. |
" It's collaborative so uploading during a concert to a media team would make sense."
I have seen multi-cam concert clips where a user has taken phone video from different users at the stadium and edited them together, but..media being sent via other means and not needing collaboration ..merely collecting the multi-cam footage for a single editor
15m views multi-cam from 2016! ...pre 4k |
"A video editor maybe at base while someone else is out filming on location so it’s incredibly useful to have the footage in the Cloud as soon as possible to start editing."
yes..very true ...but... what about the different lenses you would ordinarily use on a camera for zoom, telephoto, wide angle, fisheye and focus etc etc..
I am no mobile phone expert but how limited are you when "filming on location" with merely a mobile phone ?
and yes..would camera to cloud via a camera be a better, more Pro expectation ?? |
Pokerchips,
It's collaborative so uploading during a concert to a media team would make sense.
I mentioned it before but just again, tick the desktop site in chrome on your phone and you can login into elevate and upload. |
Pokerchips2 I appreciate that, hardly any editing required for concert videos. In fact I could have published from within the stadium using YouTube create or studio.
I do think elevate.io and some of the Blackbird patented technology could be useful for YouTube and it's more ambitious crrators. |
The new DJI Drone I have got has a Vertical Camera specific for Vertical Video so the technologies are reacting.Great point about the Mobile App, though, for uploading content to the Elevate Cloud so it's available for your editor back home or for when you get back so you can get going. That would be awesome and an absolute game changer. |
We did have that capability with eva so maybe not a lot of work.
But we have to stay focused on elevate itself |
I don’t think that is necessarily true
A video editor maybe at base while someone else is out filming on location so it’s incredibly useful to have the footage in the Cloud as soon as possible to start editing.
That’s how I have worked and with 5G it’s even more viable
Maybe partner with Blackmagic Design for their camera to Cloud app |

I can understand when making You Tube vids at a concert you want them uploaded ASAP as the majority of views happen relatively soon after the concert....before the next concert in the tour takes over..but Elevate.io isnt really there for that market and an App for that would not bring in much revenue as everyone would just expect it to be Free... Elevate.io is looking at a more creative user who is creating their content rather than merely filming it and uploading it, it being a longer thought our project process |
