They still have not changed their Wimbledon address on their Blackbird LinkedIn account... how can that happen? How come no one even notices?

"In just the first week, we saw 15,000 sign-ups; three months later, we were at $30K in monthly recurring revenue."

I wonder what our numbers will be in three months time?

As far as AI is concerned my ultimate thought is
It’s now too late to un-invent it!

AI is a threat to those who don’t use it.

" That said what if you give talented people fantastic tools? "

Nick

sure....allow everyone to have a shovel and let them all go off and look for gold...give everyone a pen and some paper and let them all write a book ...

and of course, there is the old argument that you make more money selling the tools, to those looking to make content than they do from their content ( many not getting far enough with their tools, as the competition to use them grows and grows and grows....creating a mass of content )

The bad news is the way in which media is used to manipulate us all.

The good news is Blackbird and elevate.io technology.

The democratisation of video, like the written word, will change the world.

Let's hope it makes us some money in the process, and preferably sooner rather than later. I have things to do...

Yes I know the augment about tools!

Editing on elevate won’t make you a true creative editor.

The very top tool for editing is inside you head.

That said what if you give talented people fantastic tools?

What if you removed the barriers to making content

Legacy media are gate keepers and it can be hard for genuine creators to get past them.

BBC and CH4 also have an agenda as do governments.

indeed..and yes..you could argue having an avatar instead of a flawed human like Huw Edwards might have been a better solution !!!!

You mean the BBC?

" It’s a massive power shift to creators that’s coming, basically a Revolution."

sure....but...it does not matter how many colours you have on a palette or how many different brushes .....that doesn't in itself mean you will be able to paint like Rembrandt or Picasso

It doesn't matter how many gadgets you have in the kitchen ..that doesn't make you a chef..in fact they can make that worse, because the gadgets often mean you understand less about what you are trying to be creative with

For many "creators" these tools may not make them any better at being creative than what they are now

....tools in themselves, are never a substitute for human talent

you have to have something worthy to say, otherwise it does not matter how many languages you think AI can translate it into

Look at Netflix... a lot of mediaocracy , just churned out, with the idea that you can somehow throw it out to the world in the hope that someone will watch it

AI News channel sounds terrible and potentially dangerous , especially when you wonder who is exactly behind the output thrown out by it

It isnt what the language is, or the look of the presenter ....it is of course ..the politics and propaganda etc that is behind whatever is being shown you or spoken at you...

"the largest cache of news on the planet"

horrendous thought ...imagine ONE channel trying the tell THE WORLD what is going on in Gaza from only its own perspective

No avatars for me thanks

I may not like Tucker Carlson, but at least I know it is him himself, throwing out garbage just trying to get himself rich from advertising revenue

It’s a massive power shift to creators that’s coming, basically a Revolution.

Each creator can do the work of many and then add collaboration tools with other creators

Many creators might not want to video themselves, soon that’s no problem when you can have for close to free an AI presenter or voice over even in multiple languages

And everything in a web browser!

Our elevate.io with plug-ins including AI plug-ins looks very compelling going forward

Needs a big tech company though imho

Exciting change in media coming but not necessarily for legacy media

‘Yep, I developed my first avatar over 30 years ago’

Hyper
About the same time I worked on a future concept video for a commercial broadcaster (internal use) that had video personalisation and avatars.

Max headroom era I think

It’s been a long time coming
