Clock
It’s not aimed at the free
These creators are usually self employed individuals / businesses
They make livings /incomes out of it.
Along with SME Companies in this space
Do you understand this, maybe try listening to people who have an angle on it.

Hairflick, all great while it’s free, and it sounds as though the basics will be free constantly, so how many will upgrade and pay for the premium model?

Everyone loves free, and if they could get revenue on the side in some way, then it would be far more attractive.

My current view is that bar a takeover, which is very possible, the road will be long and hard, and the share price will go nowhere.

Hyper that might be hard to do in reality as the chance of media getting lost would increase.

We have to keep things simple if you start trying to be everything to everybody complexity will creep in.

What I would recommend in that situation is to locally cut down your clips in a very basic fashion and super quickly you will have halved the file size uploads.

Chris

Oh yes there is a grave yard full of companies in the M&E space

Big One is Apple in M&E and Adobe hasn't penetrated in many areas, very crashy!

SS once said in an investor meeting presentation that Avid will find it very hard trying to work in the Cloud.

Something elevate.io could also do with is low quality(sub hd) upload for people who want to edit but don't have the bandwidth at time of editing for full upload. Then those edits would automatically applied to a subsequent quality upload before publication. Most travelling Vlogers would require this facility. Or do we just ignore this huge sector?

NickB "Nobody ever got fired for using..." has been said about quite a number of companies that transformed their market place but then rested on their laurels. AVID has some leading customers for which reliabilty is absolutely critical. Once the rot sets in it will spread very quickly.

Clocktower:”So it sounds as though it is going to be a long time before the company has paying customers.

Nothing to make one to invest at 6p impo.”

I’d say this is the ideal time to invest at 6p. It’s no longer vapourware, it’s out, usable today and getting good feedback from the field off people who know what they want and have been waiting for someone to deliver.

There’s also a very clearly defined roadmap of where they are taking the product and a very clear idea of who they are aiming at in both the immediate and longer terms.

As others will testify, I’ve been quite cynical myself about whether this will ever do anything. I am working and have worked on similar projects, albeit in different industries, for a number of years. If I were 10 or even 5 years younger, I’d be firing off my CV wanting to get onboard from the inside as this is a company which will undoubtedly increase in value multi fold from the 6p current price. They’re raw, rough around the edges but definitely understand who they are and where they’re going.

and of course ... what are the chances of Avid now getting back to the table regarding using Enterprise after the car crash problems with ITV?

I was very, very impressed with the clear calm presentation of Sumit and Tim.
Elevate came across as a game changer backed by Blackbird's high credentials and pedigree.
No down time during general release sounds an excellent achievement.
They explained so many clear definitive benefits of creating videos on elevate.
They were very convincing about Blackbird's proven pioneering technical ability.
They were so transparently genuinely enthusiastic about elevate and it's benefits.
Super efficient collaborative working came across very well.

It sounds to me that the launch of the paid version may be several months away. However, if that is their judgement, then I will be content with that.

No one ever got fired for buying an Avid so they buy an Avid.

What you saw demoed between London and New York on a free account would cost a fortune and an army of support engineers on an Avid

People don't realise how mind-blowing and accessible elevate is.

BIRD has a number of plus points that should attract ITV
* its got blue chip quality software which is Cloud Native
* its very dpendable as evidenced by its existing clients including the US State Dept and a very large NY based News organisation
* it's UK based and owned, very Green and cost effective
