Partnerships bring in lower but reliable and much less risky profits....

Partnerships

Decimates margin and less control
Sounds awful and not what I invested here for, incredible lack of ambition for the technology.

God help us if it’s them!

In response to Nick2412 – as you can imagine, I was keen to ask the question as it’s a good way to quickly grow on a limited budget, with low/no risk (only pay commission if/when revenue comes in), and the work to set it up can be done well ahead of launch. And you can leverage someone else’s very relevant audience.

In comparison, PPC (pay per click) advertising entails up front cost, lower conversion and is harder to target...and takes much experimentation. Even if you’re paying a 30% commission to partners, it’s probably a lower cost of acquisition than PPC, and the subs probably have a lower churn rate as they’re more targeted and the partner may continue to advertise the relationship to them. So I’m not bothered to have not seen any advertising of elevate.io yet...I'm actually pleased!

I’ve mentioned before, and it’s pure speculation, but someone like Stringr.com would make a good partner, as they have 120k+ videographers in their network.

Partnerships would be quicker to get paying subs in in the early days, raise the share price, and allow them to do a subsequent raise to rapidly expand. Acquisition can come anytime along the way.

At the end of the day if the tech is any good we will be acquired if not we will have to do the best we can with partners and hope they deliver this time.

Our OEM partners failed

Can't argue with that.

The silence is deafening and there certainly are some great theories...

Mo looked at partnering with Blackbird while at Vegas so not unreasonable.

But partnerships come at a big price

and this...

I asked at the AGM Apr 23 Q&A if the company has onboarded organisations with big, relevant users bases that Bird would partner with to market the product in return for a revenue share and the resounding answer from Mo Volans was Yes!. I actually asked it to Sumit Rai and he pointed out Mo was itching to answer! So I believe they use this route to gain the majority of their initial paying subs this is good as there is only marketing cost outflow if subs are successfully acquired, and presumably the payout isn't upfront, but rather phased as the revenue comes in - both good and low risk given limited marketing resources.

Highest level of 3rd party professional lab level beta testing that has to be worth something!

I would have thought being a Cloud product it’s more a case of testing the back end cloud service at scale rather than at the user end via a web browser (just my take).

If that’s right then to test the scale you need a lot of individual beta testers or a very professional Cloud service testing Capable company which is beyond video editing customers capabilities.

Anyone here have professional Cloud testing at scale experience?

I think it has often been said here that, in theory, there are a number of ways in which elevate may enter the marketplace. In essence, put simply:
1. Blackbird launch elevate on their own.
2. Blackbird launch elevate with an arrangement with a partner or partners.
3. Blackbird license elevate to one or more big companies.
4. Blackbird sells elevate to a big company.

I would suggest that we simply don't know which of these will happen, but we can piece together seemingly relevant evidence that we observe, which may or may not suggest some of the above are still theoretically possible. IMHO

An equally generous offer or even a profit sharing partnership? For all we know there may have been an unofficial auction of best deal. Perhaps getting carried away a bit now but who knows?

Shortsqueezer,

So are you suggesting that Blackbird would compromise the launch of elevate.io to give some major company first refusal?

What might Blackbird be given in return for this very generous option?

Shortsqeezer Yes.

They are scared of revealing anything that helps us decode what’s happening so absolute silence is the way to go.

Most AIM companies don’t have this level of shareholder stalking!

Also. Any sign of a leak which would cause an inevitable spike in the share price would possibly put any future contract in jeopardy along with subsequent costly legal action. So I think salmons theory is highly likely.

Probably not far off.

In previous lives I have beta tested for

Avid, Adobe Lightworks and Forbidden (Captevate) no problem.
It’s testing rather than product design which used to be done by listening to what users want and need done by site visits and trade shows and now forums.

Beta testing isn’t secretive

Even product design isn’t really that secretive and elevate if designed properly should look and feel 90% familiar

So not sure what they are trying to hide as a small company.
Which makes me think external pressure by a large company.(hey let’s not do theories).

They can’t keep it under the radar much longer!

Again more selling today.
There is probably nothing in it, but if you wanted to convince the world that there is no leaked sensitive positive information, then one way to do it would be to keep depressing would be buyers with continual selling month after month! There is certainly no significant unexplained heavy buying!
