Amazon AWS have various different storage products
We use the fastest for the Blackbird codec video files but it’s an interesting question if we can use a slower storage for the large master files that only need to be used in export ??
I would imagine if you cancel your subscription then those files go into deep archive that is very slow but very cheap. |

we haven't just plug and played into the Amazon cloud, i'm sure they've worked on a custom solution which is why they've taken so long ... servers are now stacked up with multiple TB very fast access SSDs. Amazon are also the experts in this, as far as i know it's the biggest part of their business. i'm certain fast access has been a big part of the development, after all a cloud service is no good unless access is instant. |

AI is a powerful tool alongside elevate.
It increases the skill of the editor/ creator
On one recent project I edited in elevate
I used Ai to write a voice over script
I used an Ai voice to read it
AI text generator to save typing for the captions
And that’s before we have AI plugins or partnerships
Note the billions of $ being invested in generative Ai video needs somewhere to go and that obviously is an video editor and a creator. |
cyberbub They didn't make the move 2 years ago because elevate was SRs idea. He asked his then employers Sony first but they didnt want to do it so he then approached BIRD and convinced them that elevate was a perfect fit. |

I have same concerns as you, my real use of elevate would be more of an archive for decades of family photos and short videos, not sure if that would be appreciated.
I wonder if content not in active use within the editor is temporarily moved to lower 'access speed' memory so that it does not impact high quality server time? Maybe user should be able.to tag upload for archive rather than immediate use within project.
Edit. On the other hand I suppose that is done already as clip only becomes active when it's pulled into project then timeline. |

I still sometimes feel a bit frustrated that Elevate is only coming out properly in 2025. There are various other video editors launching last year and this year, and while we believe that ours is technically the best, it's a real shame they didn't decide to make this major business shift 2 years earlier. Or perhaps raised a bit more money to shorten the development timescale. I have a niggle that within not too many years AI is going to eat our (and everybody's) lunch. But we are where we are, we have an excellent product and top management and technical directors. I think we have a great chance of success. |

Not sure where read / heard about watermark but exported videos on a free a/c don't have a visible overlay (that I can see), just a short branded clip tagged on to the end, a lot less intrusive than other free tools. |
