Bonio they're not - they've just confirmed by their launch that they believe/know that users will pay for 500Gb storage, 2 users and removal of the branding - plus the promise of some extra features soon.I imagine the further market research will be to understand how much 'Pro' or 'Enterprise' users will pay for additional tiers and what features they will pay for? |

I think my assumptions are backed up by everything since the Special Event. We have a good 18 months of evidence.
I'm slightly perplexed that with Sumit's experience they are still at the stage of trying to work out what people want to pay for.
That is bizarre to me.
Clearly, collaboration is not the be all and end all killer they hoped for and they are needing to pivot away from that as the main selling point. |
Market place was always going to be later as you need a user base before you can launch a 3rd party market! |
bonio Maybe although a very narrow window
I think their style is too ease in rather than blast in they are very clinical in what they do which is why the product is quality rather than rushed and buggy.
Even payment gateways need early users
Valid for only 30 days suggests maybe those ‘Near Term’ features might be done by end of March? |
Jbravo, I guess that's what we'll find out over the next month or so... I do believe that they will drop a load of features at/just before SXSW - the people there will be very discerning types who need to be impressed.... and hopefully will be! |
I'm not convinced from the wording they have an all star bench of add-ons to bring onto the field in the short term.
Nothing in the last 12 months suggests that.
We are where we are and they have signalled what will be released in the short term.
Talk of marketplaces was also just nonsense and hyperbole in anything but the long term. |
Feature light eh? Brave... or desperate.
What proportion will try it, only to say "no thanks not good enough" never to return? |
Could be right Bonio. I also think they'd want to test the payment gateway a little ahead of SXSW. If they have some features 'in the wings' they're more likely to reveal them around time of SXSW, than right now. |

Difficult to put numbers on because the numbers are so big!
100 million editors is one projected number!
Opportunity is huge and the creator plan looks focused on the target I reckon
Struggling to find obvious competition |
I would imagine some of the reason for the early launch, such as it is, would be to allow them to maybe put some figures in the finals - even if it is only, say, 500 paying customers. |
you could well be right on share price level chriscallen, it is a low for those in the know, which doesn't seem to be many of us!!
i don't think many others will buy in until we actually see income in the accounts, either published accounts or an RNS announcing significant paying user numbers. |
NickB I've checked and you are right it's the bait for those in education which makes the price comparison even more in elevate's favour. So the big unknown is how many of its users are casual and low level of use that may well be price sensitive. Some estimates say Adobe Premiere Pro has some 33M users so it is likely that the bottom end of its customer base will be well into the millions. Even 100K of those at £15 would generate £18M of revenue less Allenby's estimated costs of 30% = £12.6M or 3.8p a share profit... so the present share price looks to be a last chance to buy at these levels. |
elevate.io needs an app for mobile phones, so uploads can be done direct from phone. I've got tons on my phone that needs uploading. A hassle going phone to laptop to elevate.io |
well i for one am glad that the launch was today, rather than march 31st!!!
obviously not the full launch with all the tiers we were hoping/fantasizing for, however that's ok, it will help us build momentum.
i suspect most if not all of the current users will fall into this 1st tier category anyway, i don't think we'll attract higher tier customers until the word is out about us. |
There is plenty of buying, but I assume that the big seller is still selling. But a bigger, steady stream of buys over the next few days might finally take them out? Here's hoping anyway. The latest news might also just persuade them to keep some of their shareholding instead of dumping it all?! |
I certainly could do with being able to upload from my mobile into elevate.io creator. |
I felt exactly the same.Rather than later fiverr website to draft videos I'm going to use Bird. |
More trades, all look like buys, in first 30min than the whole of last Friday.
Curiously no mention of user numbers in the video. |
Launched on birthday of founding. How apt. |
I'm going for it, even if I don't do much video editing. Just having somewhere safe to dump all my decades of photos, videos makes it worth it. I trust the BIRD. |
Chris
I’m paying £58 ish per month for Adobe Are you looking at the educational price |
For comparison the best offer for Adobe Creative Cloud this morning is "£12.98/mo incl. VAT for the first year, then £28.99/mo incl. VAT. Annual plan, paid monthly" |
Morning,
So slightly early launch than expected
Price seems very well judged at £15
50% off early bird is a great opener
Storage between free and paid again looks well judged
Importantly it looks like the current Free version will have our logo on any video that is a change of original plan so I think that’s a big incentive to move up from Free
Free version restrictions of number of projects
So enough to make many users upgrade |
Just watched the video presentation for elevate.io Creator. Superb presentation and in my opinion it is the best video that they have ever produced. Also superb picture quality. A great idea to sharpen up the explanation with Ian, Sumit and Nick all contributing. |
