elevate was a clean sheet start, however I would guess a lot of knowledge is transferable.
Tend to think elevate architecture will eventually replace the original forscene architecture at some stage. |

Thanks, very helpful and makes me a lot more confident about the future. I had assumed it was the case concerning Java, but as I have not used Enterprise I was uncertain about the other aspects. It's a long time since my Forscene days!

ps not sure about digging too deep into the code would go down well with the team as per the elevate.io terms and conditions. Good to know it's basically all the original stuff with appropriate upgrading for modern cloud systems. Still a big task. |
hyper - yes it runs in a browser, it is forscene (only the name changed), and probably still runs as a java applet too. afaik enterprise dev done in java then transpiled to .js using cheerpj:
supplier had to do some extra work to support the video playback i recall.
so it's really a java app (applet) adapted to run in a browser.
elevate.io front end is native html/.js
possible they're built on the same server api, haven't looked. |
