I agree it's very weird initially, but the thing is you don't need logic (well not much) or numbers, they just work. |
I am forced to use my wife's iphone and imac occasionally. They seem to be built for people who don't get logic or use numbers. Best to steer clear of them. |
Once you've tried, there's no going back. |
ok. sorry. I saw the MacOS sign on the elevate presentation and jumped to wrong conclusion. I don't use Macs anyway. Too strange. |
Well I've just logged in via Safari and it is telling me elevate.io is not optimised for the browser I am using, to please use Google Chrome and to 'Log Out'.
But, I'm using an old MacBook Pro which can't run the latest OSX. |
The Mac daddy.
Great stuff. |
“It now runs on a Mac”.
Elevate? It always did. I ran it on a Mac using Chrome browser from the soft launch.
It was Safari browser that was the problem. |
That's great news HB! |
It now runs on a Mac. |
If you haven’t visited the elevate.io website in a while it’s worth checking out. |
Yes gamers are a strong use case technically
Other ‘new’ video editors would fall over |
Latest use case page on Gamers is a good one, with some good visuals. Content will be long, edits are simple, and I imagine multiplayer would appeal. Probably go down well with the young, albeit more the free version. Could get some good uptake. |
on the move |
TikTok back up and running in any case. |
‘But there have been an awful lot of impressive looking video editors launching in the last few months.’
Cyber Interesting take and understandable
I would say they are not really video editors I have noticed this a lot with companies claiming their product is a video editor
Needs a definition of what a video editor is perhaps they are video clipper’s with eye candy effects they look impressive but have little substance. Don’t be fooled. |
I'm really hoping that we're not 2-3 years too late with Elevate. I can understand its technical wows of being cloud native, frame accurate and having 'live' collaboration. But there have been an awful lot of impressive looking video editors launching in the last few months. Yes I appreciate that most are aimed at the Tiktok/Capcut mobile market for casual users. But the market is becoming a lot more crowded, and the feature list of some editors seems to be starting to blur the boundaries between the casual and the prosumer segments. I suppose we only have a few weeks left to find out... I'm still here. The trading action on Friday seems to suggest that possibly, just possibly, the seller is finally out? |
I don't intend to sell for a while, still holding out for commercial to launch.
Your advice noted👍 |
Just sell and move on. No regrets. Look forwards not backwards.
I’m staying put. |
Covid19 work from home. What could help with video editing?
BLACKBIRD
Complete fail.
Tiktok ban, which apps might be recommended as replacements?
Not elevate....
I mean what better time to launch and promote? I'm really hoping they don't clutch failure from the jaws of victory again.... |
Cabi Interesting although it’s just for mobile
Every company needs a video editor! |
I feel sure that those running the elevate project are very measured in what they are doing and what they plan to do. I am not sure that opportunistic chasing TikTok users in the USA is part of their plan. Surely, they don't fit with the target market for people who will progress to subscription platforms. There is no point accumulating users at cost, who won't pay for subscriptions, and will simply end up being a cost for elevate.
I feel sure they will focus on achieving the prize, as originally set out at the last presentation. |
