Survey asking what editing features are needed?
Crikey.
I would have thought they would know by now from all their research and focus groups.
Feels an odd time to be asking. |
100% if you're not creating content, your business is going to be left behind. Gone are the days when Content Creation was primarily thought to be teenagers making Tic-Tocs. It is everyday life everywhere. Embrace, or you're gonna be left behind. |
Just had an email asking to respond to a survey they’re running.
Shape elevate․ioR17;s future We are on a mission to build the best video editor for you. One that lets you create without any limits. Let us know what editing features you need in elevate․io next.
It feels like there’s a little momentum starting to build. |

It's on YouTube as well at
You can like that one |
Money wise it’s the huge area of professional non broadcast.
Every marketing manager Government communication Education professionals HR Fortune 500 companies Retail e commerce Training platforms Real estate
Then all the subjects YouTube covers
On and on
What’s interesting about video content is that it all has to be re made again and again to stay fresh. |
As a long-term development, I think yes. Totally agree that our TM is the Prosumer, but we will collect other lower end creators along the way, who will organically turn to higher paid subscribers along the way. No different to how I once paid for 500mb of Google Storage. I now need significantly more. Also, from the prosumer perspective, the Twelve Labs partnership will run through Elevate, so the Google Cloud Infrastructure point would not be relevant. |
As you do more and more editing and more projects you will definitely run out of storage and then you will upgrade to make your life simpler rather than stress over moving files around.
That’s an advantage over say Canva or Figma’s users as Video needs much more storage.
Have investors grasped that we are also in the Cloud re seller storage business😀? |
but the key question is, will the part time amateurs actually pay for it?"
Probably not unless there was a super basic tier for extra storage say $5 a month?
We could make some money off them for plug-ins in the market place.
Some will move up as they want more
However in the Pro non broadcast market as it used to be called or you could call it business accounts that’s a huge market.
elevate will also be attached to the Player
SAAS free is proven to work plus elevate isn’t after the low end customer |
"That's fair comment Ortega, but the key question is, will the part time amateurs actually pay for it?" Google Docs largely used at no cost to individuals, organisations pay to use. It's pervasive and arguably best at what it does. Hard for competition to get a look-in. |
For some reason I keep receiving pushed adds from Adobe on YouTube including one yesterday for collaborative editing.
They seem to be following me. 🙂 |
Who knows. Have you asked them?
They had a paid option though. So probably more than a landing page.

John
We don’t know what project they will be working on at Adobe could be many things. They don’t seem to be taking Scenery with them just engineering talent.
Who knows.
However Adobe at some point has to have a web based editing app
Anyway focus on our team and elevate I reckon |
Adobe are sitting on huge cash piles and can afford to throw some at this as a development project without blinking.
I’m guessing Scenery were running on fumes. Seen it before close up. |
Well if Scenery has blown up, and the engineers have jumped ship, the logical conclusion is they had nothing of value and why would they succeed at Adobe when they didn’t succeed at Scenery? |
SSB i follow you and see your posts.
OT. i'm wondering if i might get to x2 what i had at the time of the special event!
have been buying since, including a chunk almost at the bottom (i hope that was the bottom, never to be seen again)
currently i've increased 70% ... if the price doesn't jump sharply before end of Q1 2025 then i'll probably manage it ... and will be for ever grateful to those IIs who have dumped and kept the price down.
dollar jumped with trump and will probably go higher, so maybe a few yanks might take a punt cheaply due to the very favourable current exchange rates. |

Seems like you are enjoying elevate |

Yes they have new jobs but not as a scenery partner by the looks of it No mention of a sale.
Looks like the senior guy took some of his team with him.
Presumably they are going to work on Adobe’s web video editor although could be something else.
If they have only just started it suggests Adobe is a long way from release
Still interesting development, one to watch. |
That’s confirmed NickB.
Scenery team have gone to Adobe.
I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Sr. Computer Scientist at Adobe along with the Scenery team. |
Can anyone see my Twitter posts?
I know a few can..

Adobe has publicly said they are working on a web based video editor
They absolutely need one for their strategy.
They are haunted by Figma and Canva and elevate goes straight to the Adobe bulls eye of their strategy
Acquirer us and their problem is solved otherwise they are going to once again risk it
I’m sure they have elevate running in a browser at Adobe |
Pat
To me it looks like Engineers have left Scenery and moved on and found employment at Adobe down the road. |
