SVG Files are unusual in the pro video world (workflows and all that)
Scalable Vector graphics in the creator video app makes more sense. |
Scalable Vector Graphics. Takes me right back to late 80s / early 90s with Corel Draw. Probably around 92/93 when Corel Draw v3.0 was king of the graphics packages for DTP (Desktop Publishing) on PCs. Along with TrueType fonts in Windows 3.1, it was the first time PCs began to even hold a candle up to Macs as a possible design & publishing platform. |
Debian is super efficient, not bloatware.
Backs up the super efficiency of our patented technology.
I used it on my cobalt web server in the later 1990's |
NickB It's a Linux based server operating system.
It's also open source so free to use.

What’s debian 11 ? |
Cocorico
Imminent was the word used a few weeks ago 😀 |
So a big day next Tuesday and if all goes well we can push for that 100k target.
Need to make sure the Debian 11 updates go smoothly. I would have thought that would be managed by AWS, is Blackbird fully responsible for server side software? What is the boundary between the server operator and Blackbird as the customer? |
Titles - soon - maybe very soon ;-) |
I wouldn’t be surprised that the SVG work has been because of elevate’s coming soon titles and graphics tools. |
Orte Great work
nathan Maybe you don’t have the skills because you haven’t tried! Cost of having a go at film making is now close to zero should you want.
Even pro’s are loving the latest iPhones for their own work.
What you are seeing with those amazing DJI drones is the creator revolution that is taking place DJI also have a hand held pocket 3 camera system with radio microphones for about £600 That’s an amazing filming package for pro results
But video editing tools are often inappropriate for the creator market…until now😀
Ultimately that’s why elevate is going to be very big. |
The use of SVG within video is amazing, has this been done before within other video editing packages?
Great news for business videos for import of graphs, charts etc. |
![](https://images.advfn.com/static/default-user.png) Posted: 08/10/2024 Share article Blackbird now supports vector graphic handling through integrated SVG file support enabling superior precision, quality and output. This latest release includes incremental updates to a number of components of the Blackbird platform and technology including support for vector graphic handling through integrated SVG (Scalable Vector Graphic) file support.
Vector graphics offer a superior level of control, precision, and quality ensuring that the output is the highest quality possible. Since vector files only store mathematical data instead of pixel information, they are lightweight meaning faster rendering times and easier manipulation, ideal for complex video projects. Furthermore, native handling of this within Blackbird’s core technology provides the basis for other future capabilities such as text management using vector graphic rendering.
The latest upgrade to the Blackbird platform is due to be released on 15th October 2024.
This update will be made available during a maintenance window of 11:00-16:00 BST (6:00-11:00 EST) on the day.
Also as a reminder, in September we released other improvements and feature updates which are noted here hxxps://www.blackbird.video/updates/
SVG File Management
Users can now upload SVG files using the Blackbird web upload tool which is accessible from the Blackbird home page into any given account the user has access to.
These are stored and handled natively in the platform for editing. Current support covers vector objects and embedded images within vector objects. Future support for text handling will be provided in later phases.
The Blackbird editor and underlying technologies now handle native SVG rendering for high quality editing operations and rendering flows.
Vector graphics with text at present can be supported by performing vector export from the creation tool of choice (i.e. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite).
Security and Compliance work
From November onwards, we will be requiring Edge operating system updates to Debian 11 (Bullseye) to be rolled out for ongoing security and compliance purposes. |
Love hearing about what creative types do - once the community side of elevate and the player are rocking I can't wait to see show reel exemplars of users work. We should already really have a few early users that are featured with curated shorts. Unfortunately my skills a more suited to still.images |
That drone has amazing technology. You can fly it three or four miles away from you and then give it the command to Return To Home and it will come zooming back and land within six inches of where it took off from.
It has no problem flying accurately under tree canopies, whereas my Husqvaner robot mower gets lost and shuts down if it roams under a large tree. |
I have the DJI Mini 4 pro easily handles upto about 20 mph. It will tell you on the screen if it get to windy so you can then lower the Drone or bring it back to you. |
looked amazing, what sort of wind speed can you still use the drone? |
That was up on Crib Goch in Snowdonia National Park it's a knife edge ridge. We were treated to an unreal cloud inversion. |
Ortega. Where in wales did u film? Have been few times as too expensive to go abroad but had a great time and hospitable!!! |
After 50k, before 150k. Obvs. |
When do we get our 100k subs? |
Ortega remember there was that semi-pro travel vlogger did an interview a few months ago explaining how he used Elevate? (I think he might be part of the Elevate team now?) Anyway why not contact the company and ask if you can do a 5 minute video showing your own work and how you use elevate? What's the Insta link to your video anyway, if you don't mind? Would be good to see. |
