21/9/2005 16:46 | 75k "O" trade @ £1.05 at the bell :-) should be a nice start tomorrow, plus hopefully a bit of press coverage. | mgstone
21/9/2005 16:22 | jonwig - looks like you know how to spot them. I've only bought a few but proceeds should pay for my snowboarding hol in January ;-) Yep discussion thread is pretty quiet considering the large rise today although like others have said, such a large markup normally will put people off buying... tomorrow we should see £1.10 - £1.15 I hope. I haven't really researched this much but may even hold medium term if Galapagos is being recommended today following the acquisition. | mgstone
21/9/2005 16:04 | Hi mgs. It was flagged up because of yesterday's drop to a new low. I check these on Sharescope each evening and sometimes a gem shows up amongst the dogs. I'd already checked out the balance sheet, news flow and the huge milestone payments looking ahead. The only thing I was missing was a decent discussion thread to get the feel of what the company was like. Sometimes with ADVFN you get a really good thread, but in this case it was pretty thin. So I might well have bought, "lite", during today. At least it seems to vindicate my judgement that this wasn't a dog! Best of luck all, in getting to 125p plus. John | jonwig
21/9/2005 16:02 | If you bought in for around £1 mgstone then you should get around 25% gain if you hold to convert to Galapagos shares....I wish all my shares would go up by 25% in a matter of weeks.....I'd be retired!!....good luck. | alexacj
21/9/2005 15:56 | jonwig - ah sorry, shame you missed out by a day, nearly always the way huh! The ones you only watch shoot up, the ones you buy do the opposite :S Well should get a modest gain on these over next few days. | mgstone
21/9/2005 15:51 | mgstone. Flattering of you, but neither.... Read the first post and you'll see the answer! John | jonwig
21/9/2005 15:48 | jonwig set this thread up yesterday, did he know news was coming today or just a well educated guess? I got in earlier too purely with offer being 25% more than current price. | mgstone
21/9/2005 15:47 | thanks Crazi | gazza5
21/9/2005 15:46 | lol - well my opinion is - "I like the odds" Nothing is ever a certainty in this life... | crazi
21/9/2005 15:45 | so if I stick a couple of grand in then I cant lose ? | gazza5
21/9/2005 15:43 | gazza - safeway took 3 days to get to their offer price...mm's need to cover the stock and most of the reported sells are buys today being reported late... | crazi
21/9/2005 15:39 | why if the bid is 124p aren't these shares at that price? | gazza5
21/9/2005 15:33 | That's what I like to see.......thanks for the info crazi..they certainly aren't having mine!!!!!.......:-)) | alexacj
21/9/2005 15:33 | Only 20% shares on the market. the rest are with Direcotrs and institutions who will not part with them now... | crazi
21/9/2005 15:30 | Price rising in both amsterdam and brussels | crazi
21/9/2005 15:28 | Fortis Bank and KBC Securities have released BUY recomendations. One yesterday and one today!!! KBC's was only today after the announcemnt and they still rate this a good buy even after the price had quickly risen :) | crazi
21/9/2005 15:08 | Crazi you are obviously absolutely right...it matters not a jot what the MMs for BIO do with their prices.....(unless they offer you more than the equivalent Galapagos price currently £1.27!)....they can take the bid down to zero as far as I'm concerned......they no longer provide the optimum return for my shares......it is the MMs who deal in Galapogos shares that should concern everyone here.....let's watch them! | alexacj
21/9/2005 15:02 | there are 16.3 mill shares in issue, nearly half in inst. directors hands that leaves about 8 million free float, doesn't need much buying to move the price. | alpha534u
21/9/2005 14:43 | a company has offered 124p for your shares. It has nothing to do with brokers and what they think. If anything some people have waited to see what galpagos price would do and it started out negetive probably with some initial panic from holders that didn't understand what was happening - but have now turned blue and are increasing while they digest the information and realise it's a good deal... Some buyers see the % gain and it scares them. In the morning when it's 0% you will see more buys. It's stupid but many people do that...psycological. If galapagos retain their current share price or climb even more - you will get the value of 125-130p per share... | crazi
21/9/2005 14:28 | I already hold 60000 shares and feel that I have enough invested to be honest....I think you'll find that most of the trades are buys and that the MMs report them late to make them look like sells.....I don't call 6% of the company's share capital as "so few people buying"..I call that a lot...to be honest if I did not hold I would have bought all the way up to the £1 mark....easy to say I admit but I really can't see too many shares out there where worst case scenario is that you buy into Galapagos at a 15 - 20% discount....either way what is the point of selling to an MM for £1 when you can wait a few weeks and sell at £1.20ish....you work it out on my measly holding and think of those that have purchased many more.....what I'd call a no-brainer! edit........addersma | alexacj
21/9/2005 14:24 | BGLPG now up 2.3% in Germany......... | ratsnaks
21/9/2005 14:22 | Does anyone know of any statements released on any business sites, from brokers about this news, and what they think the share price should or will be? | addersmax
21/9/2005 14:16 | alexacj if it is so definate why are you not buying so much more and why are there so few people buying this sure thing. | addersmax
21/9/2005 14:02 | This is like watching a comedy show....it's great to see them try....got to feel sorry for them as the majority of investors are not completely stupid and when it states in black and white that your shares are worth £1.24....or even £1.27 due to the rise in Galapagos shares.....then only the very few will sell....had to lol at the MM sells....what a laugh!....:-)))) | alexacj
21/9/2005 13:59 | MM's little 5000 share shakes in a row..lol ALL THE TRICKS. Buys showing as sells...etc etc They are desperate :) | crazi |
