Yep discussion thread is pretty quiet considering the large rise today although like others have said, such a large markup normally will put people off buying... tomorrow we should see £1.10 - £1.15 I hope.

I haven't really researched this much but may even hold medium term if Galapagos is being recommended today following the acquisition.

Hi mgs.

It was flagged up because of yesterday's drop to a new low. I check these on Sharescope each evening and sometimes a gem shows up amongst the dogs.

I'd already checked out the balance sheet, news flow and the huge milestone payments looking ahead.
The only thing I was missing was a decent discussion thread to get the feel of what the company was like. Sometimes with ADVFN you get a really good thread, but in this case it was pretty thin.

So I might well have bought, "lite", during today. At least it seems to vindicate my judgement that this wasn't a dog!

If you bought in for around £1 mgstone then you should get around 25% gain if you hold to convert to Galapagos shares....I wish all my shares would go up by 25% in a matter of weeks.....I'd be retired!!....good luck.

jonwig - ah sorry, shame you missed out by a day, nearly always the way huh! The ones you only watch shoot up, the ones you buy do the opposite :S

Well should get a modest gain on these over next few days.

I got in earlier too purely with offer being 25% more than current price.

gazza - safeway took 3 days to get to their offer price...mm's need to cover the stock and most of the reported sells are buys today being reported late...

Fortis Bank and KBC Securities have released BUY recomendations. One yesterday and one today!!!



KBC's was only today after the announcemnt and they still rate this a good buy even after the price had quickly risen :)

Crazi you are obviously absolutely right...it matters not a jot what the MMs for BIO do with their prices.....(unless they offer you more than the equivalent Galapagos price currently £1.27!)....they can take the bid down to zero as far as I'm concerned......they no longer provide the optimum return for my shares......it is the MMs who deal in Galapogos shares that should concern everyone here.....let's watch them!

there are 16.3 mill shares in issue, nearly half in inst. directors hands that leaves about 8 million free float, doesn't need much buying to move the price.

a company has offered 124p for your shares. It has nothing to do with brokers and what they think. If anything some people have waited to see what galpagos price would do and it started out negetive probably with some initial panic from holders that didn't understand what was happening - but have now turned blue and are increasing while they digest the information and realise it's a good deal...

Some buyers see the % gain and it scares them. In the morning when it's 0% you will see more buys. It's stupid but many people do that...psycological..

If galapagos retain their current share price or climb even more - you will get the value of 125-130p per share...

I already hold 60000 shares and feel that I have enough invested to be honest....I think you'll find that most of the trades are buys and that the MMs report them late to make them look like sells.....I don't call 6% of the company's share capital as "so few people buying"..I call that a lot...to be honest if I did not hold I would have bought all the way up to the £1 mark....easy to say I admit but I really can't see too many shares out there where worst case scenario is that you buy into Galapagos at a 15 - 20% discount....either way what is the point of selling to an MM for £1 when you can wait a few weeks and sell at £1.20ish....you work it out on my measly holding and think of those that have purchased many more.....what I'd call a no-brainer!
edit........addersmax the share price should be what they have agreed to pay........i.e. £1.24 or more ...........why on earth would it be any less????? unless you were a Market Maker trying to get the punters to sell!!!!.......LOL!.

This is like watching a comedy show....it's great to see them try....got to feel sorry for them as the majority of investors are not completely stupid and when it states in black and white that your shares are worth £1.24....or even £1.27 due to the rise in Galapagos shares.....then only the very few will sell....had to lol at the MM sells....what a laugh!....:-))))
