24/4/2001 16:06 | We did not bother to put a press release out as we are much smaller than BSN. It obviously means more to BSN than it did to me when we were made an Independant Solution Provider. It has the potential to make much more money for BSN than it did for my company. The point I am trying to make is that it is not necessarily a deal that is going to make any money. It is a bit like employing a salesperson. They make bring in some business or they may not. This is not a 'dewal' at all. It is just a distributor agreement. It is nice to have your software distributed by IBM, but it does not always make you any money. | haystack

24/4/2001 15:34 | So will the price rise or fall.We must know.Should I buy AU or BSN?Decisions....... | mr.elbee
24/4/2001 15:31 | Giant Haystacks I assume IBM made similar comments when your company established a relationship? You have quotes from the IBM Director for Sales & Media saying how delighted he was? No? How about a quote from the Alliance Manager for the IBM Web Server Division? No? Oh. I guess you are wrong in your assumption then. | adam45
24/4/2001 14:28 | Haystack You're just not posting enough on this BB. Your bear attack won't be sustained unless we see your usual multiple rantings at every BSN announcement. Go on give it another go and slag BSN off again. Anyone would think you were Mike Lynch in disguise the way you constantly deramp BSN. | summit
24/4/2001 13:52 | So it's possible then that the price will rise then?. | mr.elbee
24/4/2001 13:23 | No. It is not a bad thing. It is not such a good announcenent as it seems, thats all. There have been complaints by the Stock Exchange about companies using the RNS news for minor announcements. There have been car manufacturers using RNS to announce new car models, with advertising blurb within the notice describing the leather seats etc. I think that this BSN announcement comes under this category. It is just hype. The list of IBM Independant Solution Pooviders runs to hundreds of thousands. It just like appointing a distributer for your goods. It doesn't imply any sales, revenue or even the likelyhood of success in selling anything. | haystack
24/4/2001 13:01 | Is it a bad thing for the company then Mr. haystack?Should I sell?? | mr.elbee
24/4/2001 11:40 | This latest deal must change sentiment towards BSN. | jt

24/4/2001 10:18 | Another massive contract for BSN. He's right when he said BSN is going to be bigger than Autonomy. Get in before the rocket is litted. | piu888
24/4/2001 09:42 | There is an today suggesting that Dan may split Smartlogic from BSN and take the remaining business private leaving Smartlogic to be run by Steve Hill and David Jefferies. | skylark

23/4/2001 22:50 | Trustme Have you tried the Offcice Shopper web site. Their prices are amazing. I can get almost anything from Viking, Quill etc. for far less. I was contacted by someone from Office Shopper after I registered and tried it. Thye asked me what I thought of it. I said that th site was very nice and functional. I also said that the prices were way too high and there was nothing that I could buy from the site without paying over the odds for it. The person replied that this was the usual comment from most people that they interviewed. I was told that because they do not sell much, they cannot get very good discounts from the manufacturers. When did this take place - nearly a year and a half ago. I revisited the site a couple of days ago. If anything, the prices are even higher. This not going to be any sort of a money maker in the short term. It looks like they are still not doing enough volume. | haystack

06/4/2001 11:55 | Date: 06 Apr 2001 11:16:37 Service: AFX LONDON (AFX) - Bright Station's SmartLogik unit said it sees no slowdown in its orders, despite profit warnings by its peers, and its revenues are continuing to grow quarter-on-quarter, as will be revealed in first quarter results. "I think increased competition is one of the key reasons that some of our competitors may be feeling the pinch at the moment," said chief executive, Dan Wagner. "The knowledge management sector is projected to be worth 3 bln stg in Europe alone within the next 2-3 years. There is plenty of room for a host of competitors in such a large market." Earlier, peer Autonomy Corp PLC warned that its revenues and earnings will be lower than expected after a major slowdown in European IT spending. dlh/jsa | mjf123 |
