being realistic this is sure to happen a bit and I dare say some of us do it with adverts in different places. The Advertising industry is sure to go where the largest audiences are so I don't think its a problem.

...if they are hiring...it seems as though things are taking off nicely.
Also the employee requirement seems to be pretty high calibre.

Bought in for the first time today, now watching it very carefully. I will top up on any news of likely profitability and the level of turnover. GLA

'Not everyone is convinced real racing and virtual racing will ever entirely converge. But McLaren are. They say they are democratising the sport, and sim racing is surely a cheaper, and more readily accessible, way in to it than karting. “We think the future of esports is as big and bright as we want to make it,” Payne says. Magic leap and Hololens in the AR space look like great bits of hardware. In time there could be a mass market for these as the tech evolves and price comes down.

For now AR is fairly niche but that will change.

As I've said before I most excited about the possibility for BIDS technology in mobile games where ads are accepted as the price you pay for playing the game for free (and the player base is huge!).I'd love to wake up to a RNS where BIDS has signed a agreement with one of the big mobile game studios. These companies make huge amounts of money from their mobile games (the majority through in-app purchases) and might not want to risk rocking the boat on their top titles but testing the concept on a lower tier title to start would be fine by me.

Agreed fatfish,Wouldn't it be nice if someone had software that allowed ads to be naturally integrated into media people are consuming, rather than having annoying pop ups or interruptions. :-)

This is what Codemasters had to say....

' Frank Sagnier, CEO of Codemasters, commented, "We've been impressed by both the technology and brand reach of the Bidstack team. Most importantly they understand the importance of the quality of our assets and the need to deliver a solution that appeals to both brands and our loyal gamers. We look forward to working with them."

I personally detest adverts weather on the PC or TV if there were a box to tick to get rid of them I would.
There is nothing worse than annoying adverts popping up all the time. Like the one at the bottom of this page, at the sides and top.

I've just posted this on the BBSN thread but think it's relevant here.

When I installed Football Manager 2019 I was specifically asked to consent to data collection so that adverts could be personalised. So no GDPR issue there.

I see that Google have been fined EUR 50m in France for GDPR breaches relating to targeted advertising. On the basis that they had not obtained valid consent for collected the personal data. For my sins I've had some exposure to the GDPR rules.

I was initially a little worried about what this might mean for targeted advertising. However I think it will have minimal impact. The fine, whilst it seems large, is tiny compared to Google's advertising revenue which is running at over USD 100bn a year and growing fast. So the fine is about 0.05% of global ad revenue and perhaps around 0.2% of European ad revenue.

I think the European regulators want to force a behaviour change in the media giants. I think it will mean that over time online platforms that collect personal data for the purposes of targeted advertising will start to become more explicit with asking for permission from individuals in Europe. Perhaps this may mean a drop in the percentage of targeted advertising in Europe (although this will be against a backdrop of rising online advertising in general).

Worth remembering that these data protection rules only apply in Europe and I don't believe there is anything similar in the US or Asia.

Something to keep an eye on but I don't think this will have any material impact for online global ad revenue.
