2018 but if you read the notes revenue only began at end of OCT when FM was launched.

Again, all spelt out in the last 9,000 posts.

Which period are you talking about here?

Lorry, the accounts are online you know.

Revenues £300k
Cost of sales £228k
Gross margin £72k

That £72k will be BIDS 25%.

Nothing new and really quite exciting for ~2 months worth of adverts at a time when there was very little knowledge of BIDS at all.

So moneygenxyz who is probably the most knowledgeable here doesn't know if the 600k revenue was net of paying the games publisher or not but likely it is not and their take before any costs is 15% of that, although in the rest of his post seemed to use 25%.

Assuming it is 25% the whole of 2019 produced only £150k of revenue net of paying publishers!!! That's really quite grim.

These are key fundamental concepts to valuing this company and nobody seems to know or care what they are.

If it is 25% and they do hit £1.5m of revenue in H1 then BIDS share before any costs will be only £375k which at £70m market cap is pretty negligible even assuming strong growth in H2.

What's to get excited about?

Yeah your business sounds typical but Uber by way of example advertises gross revenues (vehicle tariff) but only report net revenues (their fee of 30%). That’s probably an accounting function of the fact that Drivers earn the revenue and Uber charges a fee so actually only ‘earn’ that portion even though they facilitate the whole transaction.

Wondered if BIDS would have a similar accounting quirk but I recon Uber is an outlier there.

Most likely Uber simply wanted to dress their numbers up.

It will be Money.
My esports business shows gross revenues and then we show event costs/tournament costs as a cost of sales....
So when we host an event for say £250k on a margin of say 40% we would show revs as the full £250,000 and costs at £150,000....

Totally wrong board stocktrend, but not incorrect with regards interims...
Have to be published by close Friday 27th September...
So a maximum 9 working days to go....
Surely they will not keep us waiting?

My thinking:-
- Interims will show lower than forecast revenues at £1.4m to £1.5m
- Costs higher than forecast simply due to hiring and costs of sales
- Company trying to get authorisation to announce or get a deal signed to deliver with the accounts to lessen their impact
- Cash call at 20p (you cannot spend as freely as they have done and not require additional cash)

Just my thoughts.....

Thanks Roley, great insight and backed up by the numbers. I recon the income line is Gross in that case and cost of sales is publisher fee.

Money
After meeting with Anzu, they suggested that they pay 70% to there publishers so keeping 30% prior to running costs.

Girdz, I think the trolls are here because they really want a stake in bids, but arrived a little late so are trying to talk down the price before results and losing the chance. As time goes on though, it seems more likely it'll coincide with other news, so still feel the best buy in will come before and not after, esp now. Didn't see this drop coming to be honest, not after the recent progress made. Plenty making up to do when it turns.

As for JW he's just a momentum trader....good luck to him.
I never take much notice of that, its just a bit of a temporary boost if he gets on board, that's the way I look at it.

Sure I've traded some of these, too, but if you seriously rate a company, and are getting it for the future then short-term movements ought not to matter in the long run.

It is more complicated at the moment, because a lot of people fear the bull market is coming to an end, and they are taking their hard-earned profit off the table in some cases.
However, if this is still going to be a block buster eventually, I am cool with that.
Each to their own.

If anyone thinks that a good gross profit for a new start up growth company is expected, then they really are absolutely brainless. To be fair that does seem to accurately describe logboggy!
I am putting you on filter again.

The reality is this hasn't held up recently, any rise has been quickly sold into by sellers.

There might well be a reason for that, whether it's BIDS related or macro.

However if JD is not able to bring out any news yet, we will not know until all is revealed.
I have not felt inclined to add, but am prepared to accept whatever comes, because the advertising industry is there.... waiting.... champing at the bit, with loads of money on the table, and I think there is still the very real chance that Bidstack might be part of that.

That dream is still there for me anyway.

Of course. .I bought in here long before I knew about JW. For the record I think he has been very sly about investing/trading this stock .You've obviously done your research, you don't like BIDS for what ever reason, but STILL go on and on and on berating on this BB. .Question to you is WHY?.Please be straight up and answer. Bet you won't give a straight answer

Log, traditionally advertising agents take 15% of gross fee income.

I’d like clarity on what the revenue in the accounts denotes exactly - ie, gross or net fee income.

If the former, we had Cost of Sales of 75% at the end of last year so it appears FM19 contract is 25% share of fees.

I might be wrong though and the 300k in the accounts already represents a bigger number. Doubtful as it’d suggest gross revenues of 4-6x 300k.

So, if we filled FM capacity 100% then gross revenue will be £100m and gross margins will be £25m.

What is not to like?

How absolutely condescending is that last post 8892!

Perhaps you ought to try getting a share that is now 4x it's worth from the beginning of the year, and was nearly 6x at one point!

It certainly brings out the worst in people the shorting process.
I have far more respect for the people here who spotted this early on.

OK £1.5m if you like but no BS on margins anyone can sell pound coins for 50p. Also if it's that low would want confirmation that they are going to hit full year numbers.

@Girdz ever heard of doing research before committing cash? I have a feeling most peoples idea of research is listening to Justin on Vox then going on BBs and slapping each other on the back about what great investments they have made.

nothing to add to todays posts apart from a temporary disappointment in the share price performance...my enthusiasm for everything is at a low ebb having finished an intense last 6 weeks of the MA year on Friday and now preparing for a new MA session in ten days with 70 new students. no rest for me....Bids will be my relief...
