What do they(ADVFN) do to combat multiple account holders?

Absolutely nothing because the number of poster id's is one of the metrics they use to promote selling advertising space on the site. It is 'hit' driven, hence they allow anyone to trash threads and the site as the increase in hits is good for them.


It would be very simple to clean up this site, yet they refuse to do it because it wouldn't benefit them, it might hit their revenue.


And of course it would expose people in the city using this site to promote companies.....

yep, yump! advfn accepts the dregs for a handful of pennies - the fake celebrity ads are a cover for fake crypto-trader scams, such is the quality driving advfn.
I won't even mention controling the site re trolls & worse.

The "accept coookie" nonsense is just that, & I'm tired of clicking on it only to find a useless load of whiskey-alpha-november-kilo behind it.
Anyway, in case we should be too sensitive to ads on U Tube we can always pay to have ad-free viewing.

So what's a few embedded ads in all that?!
