09/2/2020 13:04 | Although if they store the hashed data against the technical data (IP address) I’m sure they can create a quasi detailed database. Who knows - it’s a tricky subject with many nuances and rules I’m sure. | ![]() moneygenxyz
09/2/2020 12:51 | Yep and it was yours and niggles comments that made me explore it further. The privacy policy states that the info is shared in hashed format from the games companies (3rd party). Now the gamers cannot currently block ads via consoles so it’s currently open season on game platforms for advertisers. Perhaps that’s the opportunity that Bidstack alludes to based on screens of their PPTs regarding Ad-Blockers and I’ve misconstrued it. Naturally, if Bidstack has a game contract then the company will be privy to an encrypted version of the data and will be able to do the job of serving ads in much the same way as if it was their own. If that contract stops - well who cares? There is no one to advertise to. Needless to say, Bidstack Games is clearly under development so it’s a matter of time before they can start collecting their own data. Again, all guessing and as much speculation as saying they do collect 1st party data so we are neither wrong nor right - just not fully informed. | ![]() moneygenxyz
09/2/2020 12:44 | Never went to events - too busy sorting out a patent around 2000. Tend not to go to any roadshows for companies either - to easy to get seduced - used to work in recruitment a bit and what an uphill struggle convincing directors that just because they liked the look of someone, wasn't a good idea to appoint them. That's still going on. Appoint the quiet modest applicant, forget the puffy chested lot who made out they were responsible for a team when they were actually just a member. I used to love structured interviews: "So tell me specifically which parts of the project and results you were responsible for and which referee would be best to talk to ?" and watch them sweat. Bit like that at roadshows. | ![]() yump
09/2/2020 12:37 | Everything is moving towards Blockchain and Crypto with steady progress being made on 'Tokenisation of Assets'.[I]n the future, the blockchain is expected to have a significant impact on all industries. Even in the advertising communications domain where the Dentsu Group in Japan operates, we anticipate the creation of new businesses using blockchain technology. | ![]() aidenabettin

09/2/2020 12:19 | Niggle, Not sure on the first party data point after further research - perhaps it is all aggregated 3rd party user data as part of the gaming contract. I know you have to opt into SI advertising when you launch FM20. Some games make you opt in to a whole raft of stuff otherwise you can’t play (Fifa). ——&mdash “ 2. The information we collect about you We may collect, use, store and disclose different categories of personal information about you. As set out below, the information collected depends on whether you are an end user receiving advertising via the Platform, a Website visitor or a customer / partner representative: End user Identity Data includes age, gender, country, region, city, and your Steam, PlayStation, Xbox or other similar gaming platform user identification name, alias or tag. Where the data relates to Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, (or other similar gaming platform), this is received from game publishers in a hashed form. Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, device type, operating system and platform, connection type, user agent string, mobile carrier, identifiers assigned to your device including advertising identifiers and other technology on the devices you use to access or to otherwise interact with our Platform. Usage Data includes information about how you use our Platform and the games that our technology is within. Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences.” ——&mdash Bidstack have never gone deeper into how the changes will be beneficial but they have alluded that they will in podcasts - I guess it’s a wait and see. As for the business model, CPM is a widely used metric for nurture engagements in newspapers, billboards etc and even more valuable when it is programmatic and served individually to relevant audiences according to the above data. PPC is calculated separately and charged separately (usually much higher as it equates to a measurable sale and is worth £‘s rather than pennies). Important to just accept this although we know that FM billboards do have conversion capability so it’s an option for advertisers too. You may not be familiar with DOOH but it is a real industry much the same as SEO and PPC: | ![]() moneygenxyz
