Ex-dividend today, and the Final one, not Interim. Maybe some are doing a bank and run, on the expectations of an improving economy, less companies folding. I think they're maybe selling out at the low. Investors Chronicle reckoned it was undervalued in July at 98p...

I bought in here for the first time ever this morning at below 101p.

At the miserly current rating, with good prospects in the current climate and with a healthy Balance Sheet, plus increased activity as the new recruits bed in, I can't see much downside and can see upside of anywhere from 20% to 80%.

It shouldn't take much to move sentiment and today's update looks good enough to prompt more institutional and investor buying. Then there's the run-up to the H1 results and also the likelihood of more earnings-enhancing acquisitions.

Mike,

The website just shows indicative values.
His actual buys are very much higher in volume.
He is a well respected investor.
He does exceptionally well.

Good to see the support, and although slightly in the red, very confident in BEG as an investor and not trader.

It is almost immposible to hit the lows without luck but here seems as good as any entery point.

Like a lot of people I thought I was being clever adding this equity as a counterweight to COVID and the recession and at times it looked an astute call.

However, in the last few months whether it’s investor fatigue or just perceived issues with the company that has set in the share price has been dropping virtually daily with no signs of a bounce. The number of posts here suggest the former and investors leaving to invest in other opportunities.

So I have learned two things; I am not as clever as I thought (I know humbling) and I am now holding more in hope that we have hit lows. Not a great strategy!

Anyone left to state the bull case and raise a smile?

Begbies Traynor Group (LON:BEG) – Guiding Higher
Well, it is good to know that someone is enjoying the current economic environment.

And this business recovery, financial advisory and property services consultancy group is certainly doing just that.

Earlier this week the company’s Pre-Close Trading Update guided the market that its trading year to end April 2023 was going to show better than expectation results.

It led investors to expect double-digit growth over the previous year, with revenues of at least 11% higher at £122m and a 16% improvement in adjusted pre-tax profits to some £20.7m.

Analysts Vivek Raja and Jamie Murray at Shore Capital Markets note that the guidance was 2% better than consensus hopes.

They have revenues estimated for the current year to end April 2024 of £129.3m, with profits of £22.5m, worth 10.6p in earnings and more than double covering an estimated 4.0p dividend per share.

For 2025 they see £136.9m sales, £24.4m profits, 11.3p earnings and a 4.2p dividend.

The shares, which have been up to 156p in the last year, closed last night at 131.5p, which is about right based on recent statements.

The full 2023 results should be published on 11th July, which may then give more confidence to the upward hopes for the £203m group’s shares.

Poor shareholder register meaning too often it trades in a volatile fashion based on pa tip investors. Some instis won’t invest in companies where top management effectively control the company like here with Ric Traynor. But fundamentals remain very solid and value will out imo over next year or two as their business becomes increasingly busy

Apparently AIM Investor sold-out on 10th Feb, banking a 73% profit. Not sure how much sway they hold; others may have followed in view of the overhead Resistance level? tightfist
