Thanks for posting ..i didn't realise that cyber was the focus but.. Shore Capital believes the cyber security solutions company presents a "profitable high-growth opportunity to investors across a span of technologies"..is there a change of focus? Thought networking and biomed were the driving forces? Was expecting more commercial products to wider market from cyber before year end but often the focus is the other divisions.

car1pet: Lets give the guy a chance at the helm. We dont know how he will help to drive sales and marketing when he takes over. Maybe he realises this is now one of the key areas to establish shareholder value, but was thwarted in the past as outside his direct control.

CFO to CEO. I'm pleased to see that Marom has finally stood down but replaced by a spreadsheet accountant is not what I want. I want a new Sales focussed CEO who knows how to drive a business forward. Accountants do not make successful CEOs
The market reaction is underwhelming 80 shares traded so far today

I'd expect an interview on proactive at some stage today. Not sure if it will give any insight though on long term plans

I would argue he is part of the furniture and has had ample opportunity as CFO and de facto COO to have been in a position over eight years to influence all such structural and refocusing changes that might present the company as more investable. Talking of imbedded deep value is really just talk as evidenced by the share price ..investors need evidence to give any benefit of the doubt , that doubt will remain until the inflection points are breached and the new technologies start gaining any traction. That also applies to any unbundling ideas, I'm not sure the company has anything that can be stripped out and command a decent value pre revenue stage in current markets.

There is enormous imbedded value in this Company's shares regardless of whether the new CEO manages to improve widget sales or not. So what is so (potentially) exciting here is whether this move is the beginning of a process to unlock that value through a significant restructuring of the current holding company through asset/division sales, simplification of the capital structure, listing of subs on markets like NASDAQ, etc. For that kind of (long overdue) strategy, then a sharp, long-serving, incentivised CFO, with a deep knowledge of the value of the Company's core businesses, is pretty much precisely the profile you want in the top seat, I would argue.

On the other hand i know a fair few institutions that do not favour accountant CFO's being promoted to CEO from within. Would be interesting to know what process was adopted by the board before this promotion whether any other external or internal candidates were considered..i expect not.I also share the opinion that a Ceo who is stepping down should also remove themselves from the board..it can make life very tough for new incumbent to make strategic changes with the founder and 30 year CEO's influence still on the board . However Zvi is a large shareholder and i guess named his terms that were approved by the other large holder.

Paulsi: I suppose the take on that is all the (genuine) shareholders on this board won’t be selling on this news. But will be waiting for signs of improved shareholder value before buying more. A former CFO will play well with the very large holders who may increase their investment over the weeks to come. Especially if they were pushing for the move.

What BATM needs is a great Sales and Marketing director not another accountant

Only batm can promote the person who's been most responsible for the 60pct drop in share price, exit from 2 indices and the failed buyback...

I'd love to be totally wrong and be back to where we were in Jan 2022 though.

Zvi as a non executive worries me just as much...will he really just sit there and do nothing..?

Very bullish news. I think we all knew this was needed, however good to see that BATM aren't afraid to make major changes to management. This will be important to the LT success of BATM. In terms of the new CEO, Moti Nagar who was previously CFO has been chosen. In my opinion the perfect person to continue growing BATM given his Capital Markets and M&A expertise. Expect big things from BATM in 2023 with Moti at the wheel.

This is a positive move, I said over a year ago Zvi perhaps had a medical problem, but he was unwilling the let go of the company he has built. He has such a big stake in the company it'll be interesting to see if he sells all or part of it? The market has lost confidence in him with his connection to Shore? IMHO

Moti brings his sound financial knowledge to this position and, coupled with his capital markets and M&A expertise

This is the most relevant part

I think that as well, wizz. As for Moti, he is much different from Zvi and my comments stand

Moti has been on the board for a long time so not exactly likely to have a completely fresh approach..he is Zvi's heir . On the plus he knows where everything is in a convoluted structure on the minus he has overseen the development of the convoluted structure.Be interesting if there were calls for change but doubt Moti can be seen as a reforming new broom. It is obviously possible there are health reasons ..i hope not.

I will offer a stronger take: I reckon this is big deal for shareholders. Zvi is broadly associated with being the main voice behind defending the current 'conglomerate' structure at BATM. I believe that this move signals the board's acceptance that that has been a significant deterrent to shareholder value creation and it therefore reasonable to hope that this change of leadership is the beginning of period where the Company is both more pro-active in seeking a simpler structure in aid of making it far easier for the market to assess the Company's true value, as well as more re-active to shareholder's interests/concerns.

Maybe Zvi realises that Moti is the candidate to increase the value of his massive shareholding.

I suppose that would be the positive PR take! But still interesting if ADOR and Edgility are being unleashed why he is not waiting to go out on a high?

This is a positive step for long term shareholders. Someone that knows the business and has the fine-tuning lined up as the company starts to roll out its exciting product portfolio. Moti won’t need months to get to grips with the diverse operations. 2023 will be an exciting and rewarding one. Great news.

I think we can reasonably speculate that this is work of, or at least sanctioned by, the big shareholder, and if that is true, then hopefully this is just the beginning of a more active period for LOAM. I have met Moti a few times and he impresses with his knowledge of all the firm's businesses and maybe more importantly for us, is far more sensitive to the Company's historic shortcomings in promoting and marketing itself in the stock-market (not that Zvi set a very high standard to beat). He is of course far younger as well. As for motivation, he does have a significant equity holding in the form of options that still have several years to run if memory serves.
