28/1/2019 10:20 | Currently getting a diagnosis of a specific infection (on a possibly critically ill patient)takes far too long. It's guess work initially by the physicians, as to what antibiotic to use (whilst the lab is growing and testing) - therefore the patient can become even worse if they guess wrong. With their kits, I understand they can run multiple (much more and much quicker than is currently available) DNA analyses (to identify the possible organism)very quickly - and therefore be able to get the patient on the correct treatment in record time. If BATM are the only ones doing this .... and it works successfully in trials .... OMG ... We are talking MEGA !! This would be a game changer for the medical industry. | rawdeal1
28/1/2019 09:53 | More investment in the future. I don't know about the medical business so don't have a view as to whether it is a good investment. Most companies have a view about the potentail of the market. No mention of the the likely return on the investment. Does anyone know the size of the market this investment is aimed at? | car1pet
28/1/2019 09:27 | Some further information......fro BATM rises as it inks US$30mln investment agreement to develop molecular diagnostics solution 09:38 28 Jan 2019 The firm said the initial US$14.5mln would be funded by the end of March, while the remaining US$15.5mln is to be funded by the end of 2020 BATM Advanced Communications Ltd (LON:BVC) shares were lifted in early deals Monday after it signed an investment agreement to fund the development of a molecular diagnostics product by its joint venture, Ador Diagnostics. The firm, which operates in the bio-medical and networking technology space, said the conditional investment would total up to US$30mln, with the initial US$14.5mln to be funded by the end of March and the remaining US$15.5mln to be funded by the end of 2020, subject to certain milestones being achieved. READ: BATM subsidiary upgrades Kenyan education network Ador itself is owned by BATM and medical equipment group Gamida for Life, both of which would provide US$4mln of the investment funds with the rest funded by what the company said were “leading” The investment is focused on the commercialisation of Ador’s first product, the NATlab reader, a rapid-results diagnostic system that is currently in final engineering ahead of in-hospital testing in the US and Europe. BATM said it was intended that NATlab receive regulatory approval to enable commercialisation in 2020, while the investment itself would be used to build several systems with customers to test, develop, and certify tests for different diseases using NATlab, as well as for sales and marketing purposes. Once the total investment is completed, BATM said it would own 30.2% of a new company, NewCo, which will own 100% of Ador. Dr Zvi Marom, chief executive of BATM, said the investment reflected the “tremendous potential” of the molecular diagnostics solution and that the funding once completed would allow the commercialisation of NATlab to be accelerated. Shares were up 2.6% at 48p. | reeltime

16/1/2019 13:51 | The announcement on the Kenyan project is important as it demonstrates that the upgrades to 100GE are actually now happening. The announcement also references other potential clients they are working with and its true that the US is pushing to get this implemented. Its another milestone. | fse

07/1/2019 23:12 | Interesting piece about edge computing which Telco are already very much involved with. Also of interest is that the co operation with ARM is now translating into actual products being offered. | fse
04/1/2019 08:18 | Congratulations to all shareholders. I have a soft spot for BATM having attended a number of company presentations a few years back. I felt the board and executives were men of integrity, something in short supply on the AIM market. I lost patience with the share price and sold out.Not clear how that table of risers/fallers were compiled as I'm in Anglo Asian which has risen 100%. | goodgrief
03/1/2019 16:26 | BATM Telco are at the primary interface level for 5G ......basically they are at the platform architecture phase. They are now clearly linked with ARM, which itself through its ownership by Japans Softbank, should give them a significant inroad. As I have noted previously the US has no intention of losing its lead to China. Japan also is a major 'country" player in all of this. Plenty to play for and remember BATM Telco are a minnow in all of this. I feel that analysts are still underestimating the revolution 5G will usher in. This spat with China will probably accelerate development and deployment. | fse
03/1/2019 09:20 | So Apple's bubble seems to be deflating - interesting times for Apple ahead. It needs a new world beating product otherwise it will be outsmarted by the Chinese products. Microsoft has resumed the mantle of the highest cap value after Apple, Amazon and Alaphabet have all fallen back. Are there any implications for BATM in all this? Or is networks the internet of everything the new holy grail | car1pet
