Posted at 08/8/2024 06:40 by netcurtains Barrett Redrow merger discussed on BBC Radio 4 this morning. They came to a conclusion that BDEV need Redrow for the extra land and to build MIXED housing on the Redrow sites so not just Redrow. Sounded an upbeat discussion |

Posted at 04/8/2024 09:06 by netcurtains #FTSE #BDEV Barrett apprentices get a good write up in todays Sunday Times Business section entitled: "Britain needs houses but who will build them?" (on web see headings: "Early Careers", "Experienced Professionals", and "Armed Forces": |

Posted at 10/7/2024 07:03 by tornado12 I have to agree is looking still a very weak market for BDEV. My hope is the future push by Labour and consolidation with Redrow, will create the catalyst of change for 2025/2026: I am bullish on the medium term and prepared to add if share price drops something silly < 400p. Is not a big holding in my portfolio, as I purchased for share price growth when sub 400p.. GLA |
Posted at 03/7/2024 14:41 by cupra kid I would say BDEV have been one of the more busier developers, compared to some I visit. Like always it's very much a postcode lottery whereas some areas are very buoyant and some have slowed down considerably. If they come in close to their forecasts I would see it as a win/win situation. They can't be that hard up to fork out £2.5b for RDW which is predominately for land bank. |
Posted at 07/2/2024 14:25 by vatteton Well guys, personally i believe this to be a good move by BDEV,in the current climate. The cut in the divi has done the damage today rather than the takeover itself in my view. |
Posted at 07/2/2024 13:41 by louis brandeis I think you can hardly blame BDEV for what they did in 2007. Most people had no idea of the harmonics of sub-prime failure in the US market. |
Posted at 07/2/2024 13:19 by zutalors I remember BDEV taking over David Wilson Homes in 2007 ; calamitous timing for BDEV, felicitous for David Wilson. Await to see whether BDEV’s knack for mistiming the market endures |
