Interim figures tomorrow anything less than £408mll pre tax
will be disappointing, but 2019 a difficult year for house builders in general.

Holy cow! Stopped out of short... Now reopened 751

After this initial euphoria the housing market is in trouble

Tory now have to figure out how to balance the books but with £2 trillion debt up from £1 trillion in 2010..something has to give

How’s the shorting going?

The only point of being short is to close the trade when it's profitable.. I've done this many many times and sometimes closed at a loss but overall won more than lost

It's a trading strategy... Alternatively you can buy and hold

Please cut out the name calling there's room for all views and strategy

You’ve never not been short your either a genius or a liar- if you’ve been shorting this as long as you have I suspect the latter!

Well I wasn't short at ex dividend as you should close beforehand otherwise you pay a dividend adjustment

I am short now though for the record

Shares go up and down all the time.. Sometimes you are right sometimes wrong

I've traded Barratt a lot and banked lots of profit mainly shorting the rises.. Like now

No doubt builders profits still look good and its a surprise but the underlying trend in housing market doesn't look good

There is also a good chance of credit crunch 2 if you follow the news.. I own no shares now... Get prepared

I have always been a believer that a stock going ex will fall the amount
of the dividend.
Having said that and taken the divi fall pleased to buy in again last evening
and reap the increase today..
A good day at the office..

Porsche and taffeee have been consistently wrong since this was about a pound a share way back when - I have never seen a duo so badly wrong - with his investment advice he should be renamed Lada!

Optimism that there may well be a deal with the EU

Less chance of an economically damaging no deal BREXIT

Less chance of an election

Less chance of a comrade Corbyn government

In short, potentially less uncertainty

NB. Of course this is all predicated on no one upsetting the apple cart on this weekend's TV.
