It's not about being told, of course you're told! It's how it was sold to you and the implications of the extortionate rent rises and buy outs that I'm fairly certain wouldn't have been explained at the time.Just on a Barratts site at present so will ask the question.

I agree it would be classed as mis-selling. To be sold a new leasehold and to be told it's a few grand to buy the lease but then to put ground rent fees considerably up and also the buy out by thousands is daylight robbery and those guilty of it will be fleeced accordingly. Bellway are definitely one house builder guilty of such practices. Barratts performing poorly today whilst others slightly higher may suggest they have some issues too?

More of an issue for the private equity firms that bought leaseholds and then hoped to sell them on at daft prices for a hefty profit. That's where buyers were getting screwed.

probably best to phone one of their sites and find out if leasehold or freehold
bellway and taylor wimpey are, going to cost them all big time i hope
repaying charges with interest!
