14/10/2015 13:12 | If Bellways results had been bad , building shares would have fallen off a cliff. | rwlly
13/10/2015 08:57 | Thanks Bellway! The momentum returns and more to come from other house builders over the coming weeks. Return of capital and more houses needed in the UK are enough for me for the time being. When interests rates rise how much higher will be BDEV from the price today? Will be interesting to see. Will the rise stop the need for homes people need? Doubt it! | lauders
12/10/2015 12:15 | Doesn't look too good technically....not rising into xd...rolling over Reminds me of sp500 before It fell off a cliff recently | taffee
07/10/2015 11:30 | Oh dear cameron wants to build more homes for ftbs....can't have that Who's gonna rent all the 1.6 million btlets? This party is over imo | taffee
29/9/2015 13:09 | Still ticking along the top i think. | rwlly
29/9/2015 08:12 | Xd is 29th October I think which may be a reason for the strength What happens after that is unknown(bar drop as per xd the day after) Lot of headwinds out there...how long can hmg keeps all the plates spinning? | taffee
28/9/2015 12:35 | If this continues up and we end around here or higher it will be a new high. Great :-) | lauders
28/9/2015 10:01 | 11 buyers for every home on the market - doesn't sound like ideal time to be shorting builders!! | stuart37
28/9/2015 09:39 | Mortgaes the highest in Aug for 8 year taffee - don't open your short yet imo :-) CR | cockneyrebel
28/9/2015 09:14 | Maybe on this but not on oil and oilers and the recent Dow correction...perhaps Soon my timing may not seem so bad on this...unless hmg decide to give people free Money.....which looking at their track record looks perfectly possible | taffee
27/9/2015 21:15 | Agree taffee - but it's generally the same for most sectors. Investing is about timing your buying and selling. Your observation is correct, it's your timing that really rubbish. All imo CR | cockneyrebel
14/9/2015 17:47 | Indeed; timing is all! | sogoesit
14/9/2015 15:57 | Sogoesit I did make shorting bdev last year but money made lost after it rallied.I always use stop loses....religiously Not too much...recently did well shorting oil and oilers...still think there's a big payday on builders but the whole property market seems to be like dotcom boom It will pop but the question is when | taffee
14/9/2015 15:40 | The issue imv is whether, calling the top of the market or over-valuation and advocating a short position, views expressed are backed-up with hard cash. If not, BB words are just hot air! I'm not sure that "no-one could have predicted zirp til 2015, help to buy and conservative majority" as an absolutist statement is correct. There may well have been people who did and who, even if they didn't, positioned themselves from the beginning. Sure, zirp was unexpected to last so long at the beginning but for at least the last 5 or 6 years QE has been pretty apparent around the world. Picking 2015 as the end is also risky imv. Still, when in 2010 I bet that it would be short term I did take-out short interest rates (TBT) and have suffered severe losses. However, bets on BKG and PSN, given excess demand over supply (basic economics), have kept me overall profitable. So, if you're really short this stock how long can you afford to be short? And, if you are short how are you protecting yourself, as a good trader, if you're wrong? Those would be interesting issues to deal with on a BB, imho. Good luck and remember anyone can go bankrupt before the market even if, and when, they are right! | sogoesit
14/9/2015 15:21 | Afren recently went to zero but I didn't go on the boards saying ha ha bulls you Got it wrong you are losers..told you so....sharedealing is easy in hindsight and if you are a serious investor for a long time you'll understand that.....I didn't give advice to anyone...Just my opinions Shares do go down..check bdev 2007/ 2008...anything can happen | taffee
14/9/2015 15:15 | Oh and by the way...as I post, Bdev is just about at an all time high. I can't remember how many times I've posted in reply to your nonsense and Barretts price has finished at an all time high. Who is the fool? | shutittrev
14/9/2015 15:03 | The point is there is nothing to admit....the share price speaks for itself...however No-one could have predicted zirp til 2015 help to buy and conservative majority Among other things...people make their mind up to buy and sell themselves..this is a discussion Board for opinions bull and bear and no serious investor is without bad calls but Your language leaves a lot to be desired....not very adult..the problems in the housing market Have not been solved they are now worse than ever and the bubble bursting affecting bdev is a fair call... | taffee
14/9/2015 13:26 | Thanks friend | taffee
14/9/2015 12:25 | Fed deciding on interest rates this week....any thoughts on the effect of a rise Or whether there will be a rise? | taffee
14/9/2015 12:01 | Worse than all your predictions is the fact that Jeremy Corbin will have to borrow even more. Mind you that's somthing they are well versed in but never admit till it's too late. | zapa |
