Posted at 15/12/2023 21:51 by freedomexpress747 I hold a few investment trusts and whilst they have considerable benefits- reserving for dividends, ignoring the noise of inflows and outflows, gearing when it's sensible etc... discounts are a real problem unless you are a really long term investor. Perhaps as part of the reinvigoration of the City (and the disastrous under investment in London markets) some fresh thinking is needed here. What about the Association of Investment Trusts (or whatever its called these days) sending their best and brightest to resolve it with Number 11. And why no UK extra ISA?? |
Posted at 15/12/2023 09:57 by vacendak Yes, at times these people seem surprisingly approachable.Back in the day of Witan Pacific, just before they turned into Baillie Gifford China, I emailed the trust about being concerned of the switch to a "one country" approach and got a reply from the chairman, or "chairpeople" as we would now say as she was a lady. And I am no institutional investor either. |
Posted at 04/2/2021 19:48 by 1nf3rn0 Seems a bit premature for a 10 for 1 split. Price is only 11 quid. Not exactly out of reach for monthly investors. One holding of mine which would benefit from such a split would be PNL, but they seem a stubborn bunch who are quite set in their ways. |
Posted at 01/11/2012 11:56 by sandbank Anything with the word "bankers" and "trust" in it sounds like a contradiction in terms - but actually the Bankers Investment Trust seems to be doing ok.It's a Henderson Global Investors Trust which - they say- " "seeks to maximise returns for shareholders through a broadly diversified international portfolio. The trust aims to deliver capital growth in excess of the FTSE All-Share Index, and regular dividend growth that exceeds the rise in the Retail Prices Index (RPI)." As you can see from the graph it's had its fair share of ups and downs - but now seems to be climbing upstairs slowly and steadily. |
