Large discount persists and seems unjustified. Will close at some point. |
Cheap as chips - time to add |
Bought a few for the dividend , and I hope the discount closing. Would argue its a decent portfolio deserving of a better rating. Uk stocks seem to be perking up so a decent chance this will push through 200p by year end. |
Final dividend 5.6p. Ex Date 15/08/202 |
The portfolio contains no utilities, banks or oil companies so maybe this is BGUKs time to shine regardless of who wins the election. 14% discount, looking for an opportunity to buy a few. |
Bought back in already up, manager doing good job Auto,Relx,Game,HL,Fan etc. Growth stock but big rises in divs by portfolio mean approaching 3% & rising. Good diversifier from ftse100. |
Addition did not turn out badly, bit of good fortune tbf. |
Remember manager was changed at wrong time in value / growth transition |
Fully agree with that, woeful. That being said the portfolio as it's now constructed looks decent(ish). Embarrassed to admit I added a small amount last week. |
Looking at 10 year performance, its been very poor. A lost decade. |
Listened to manager speak. He is very dullIndeed . His stock picks are far from it though! |
Was due some support. |
Added this afternoon. Overdue a bounce if wider markets can string together a better few days, emphasis on if. |
Bought a few. |
gilt, nicely traded.
Looking at this again. |
Sold yesterday nice profit missed the big gain, like manager unfortunately macro climate in UK not great so sheltering the storm in US Funds, USD supreme, at the moment. |
A well constructed growth portfolio, I don't know why other posters so negative, I am already well up in a few short weeks. |
Agreed tripped up on Naked Wines, but very small holding, others going great, Volution, Abcam, Autotrader, Rightmove, Gamesworkshop etc buy now good discount. |
I've sold out this morning for a small gain having bought on 16 June.
Slightly put off by that post on their adding Naked Wine.
May buy back at some point, luck to holders. |
123ct, why they purchased WINE would be very interesting!! - cautioned on the cost of NW's customer acquisition strategy last year on the SHA board, mentioned it again today.
There will be a few corks popping for those short this evening, or even earlier!.
Congrats if you are amongst those. |
I do not hold but did read the last report, I am always have a look at the new shares trust managers buy as it allows me to understand where the active management is, I would love to see their research note on the new buy of Naked Wines they refer to, down 44 % today and 82% off their recent high, |
Had a little nibble yesterday, hopefully an opportunity for a snack over the next few weeks. |
At 150.6p this gem is only down 38% year to date so it's outperforming some of the other Baillie Gifford trusts! |
The stocks are OK but the value the market currently puts on them is the problem. Too many automated trades can cause the massive volatility we are now seeing. However I hope one day that the jumps will be bigger than the falls. |
