Not 100% about BGCG but an informative read on what is in it and what is not.

This should help the company grow by a fifth over the next year, if the market is still hungry for it. Assuming the money buys already held stock without need for more research, the costs should go down, improving things even more.

Despite a sharpish drop in NAV over the past few days, the premium is still well above 10%, so serious leeway to offload the remaining treasury shares.

They still managed to offload 200K shares today while the share price was falling.
Surprisingly we recovered and closed at "no change".

9.8% premium at last published NAV, not as ridiculous as before but still high.

I got into it as Witan Pacific, so at a substantial discount to NAV. :)
Just sitting tight when the rollercoaster goes down and enjoying the rides up.

It needs to dive further....u are crazy owning this at a huge premium to NAV. The closed end is much better value at the moment

That thing sure is volatile, very nasty dive today.

A couple of days old because caught from an end of weeks news recap email.

The article states the facts right, but the author should read about BGCG before writing anything like "BGCG performance over one year". BGCG was WPC a year ago...

Was a Dirty Harry reference, but we're all gamblers :-)

Pretty sure they reopen on Weds, having been closed from Thurs (so a full week in total).

China is a safe bet even if us takes a dive which would be highly unlikely to happen before Q3, many people panicking unnecessarily here.Gla.

Closed until middle of next week I think.

Absolutely it's possible the US tanks between then and now but the question is - do you feel lucky?

but chinese markets closed from today for a week or so I think. If US markets tank in this period( UNLIKELY) you never know how China will react when it opens but I wonder if futures market will be open when physical shut ?

Why would you buy at such premiums? It's a drag on future performance. Look at the Baillie Gifford China fund equivalent. It's vastly outperforming the trust on a 1m, 3m and 1 year basis

will there come a day when i can add to this at a discount or a smaller premium?

NAV 547p from yesterday's 535p. To get back to 30% premium - and it was over that previously - would be share price of 711p, not including any further NAV rise to be reported tomorrow.

More share issuance is coming, but haven't even seen a date for a shareholder vote on it yet.

£7 seems at least a target, even if a gutsy one. NAV performance has been exemplary.

But NAV will be up at today's report, & premium has been over 30% before.

The more they issue at a premium, the better for the Trust, which is still pretty small.

Still a crazy 17% premium

They even dropped 840,000 shares from treasury yesterday. This was nearly four times the usual 200K-250K.
The number of treasury shares is now below 10 mils.

Yes breakout if closes up here, yes going higher, but - premium nearer 10% than the 30% it reached before, so much of this rise is on great NAV performance. Certainly suggests it can go higher, even another 10% wouldn't be back to NAV premium highs.

Although a big premium may seem daft, the likes of Mr Train's LTI got to near enough 100% premium.

Significant new ALL-TIME-HIGH at 610p.
