Really?.....So Ganfeng buy BCN and acquire a Mexican lithium producer and opt to receive shares in Zinnwald only to flog it out.I would think they'd be only to happy to hold a strategic interest.Lithium is what they do.

Big holders must have demanded a bit more and the Chinese probably don't want to deal with German regulators so happy to get rid of Zinnwald.

BCN shareholders will receive the shares which the company holds in Zinnwald.Ganfeng will receives shares in Zinnwald in respect of their holding in BCN.These are not new shares in Zinnwald.

So guys here we go again Supine board and regulators agreeing another months extension for absolutely no reason?Ah yes sorry - Ganfeng need even longer to carry out due diligence on a company that they already know inside out.

Great idea! (no tongue in cheek ;)
No surprise that the Chinese are buying up lithium producers but their takeover process does seem to be incredibly slow with extension after extension in this case. Are Ganfeng running the risk of a counter offer by taking so long to even confirm their offer!?

"...the Takeover Panel has consented to, an extension to the deadline by which Ganfeng is required either to announce a firm intention to make an offer for Bacanora in accordance with Rule 2.7 of the Code or announce that it does not intend to make an offer for Bacanora, in which case the announcement will be treated as a statement to which Rule 2.8 of the Code applies. Accordingly, this deadline has been extended until 5.00 p.m. (London time) on 26 August 2021.

Heh, maybe bcn shareholders should buy loads of zinnwald, hope it drives up price of zinnwald, thereby hopefully increasing value of bcn’s stake in it, thus adding to bcn’s own nav..... so it makes for a stronger case for the bcn offer to be upped.... (entirely tongue in cheek of course)....

Assuming that the Ganfeng takeover of BCN completes the Chinese will own 35.5% of for which I've created an up to date thread with a five day chart comparing 4 LSE lithium stocks.

I'm holding a small biopharma called Vectura - VEC - which is also the subject of a bid.Only difference is their board didn't roll over for their tummy to be tickled but instead came up the highly original response along the lines of get lost your bid grossly undervalued the company. And guess what happened- the bidder came back with a higher offer. Not like our supine bunch of surrender monkeys (thank you Mr Bush).Come to think of it the VEC bidder also didn't couch their bid in the wonderful way of Ganfeng namely we might make this offer any time in the next 8 months.I know what any half decent board would have thought of that.

ZNWD is re-rating fast, renewed interest in lithium, update or assumption that This gets swallowed too?

Short term though if Ganfeng pull out the share price will probably drop to the mid 40s.Not a problem if you're holding til production.

Husbod - you missed the punchline - and you can still buy stock today and receive a 13% (low risk) return in 6 months time (26% annualised) and if the deal falls through we all know BCN is worth 50% more!

Precisely So let's imagine there's a mining company sitting on a very large strategic resource in a relatively stable country and financed to production.Along comes a minority shareholder with an off take agreement and says we would like to make an offer that you can't resist. Ok it might be well below the potential market value and even better we suggest we should have 8 months in which to make it unconditional but you know it makes sense.Incidentally the offeror happens to be the largest lithium miner in the world world and is backed by the CCP so funds are not exactly a problem.Brilliant says the Board we'll recommend it to the other shareholders and by the way if you want to string it out for the full 8 months we will of course agree to monthly extensions just so we can comply with any regulatory requirements. You really couldn't make it up.

The ODI is done, that was supposed to be the long task, so a formal offer could be anytime now, however expectations were set at December so I see no reason for being impatient

Bid or no bid, this is a good price to accumulate imo

"It is expected to take up to eight months for the Outbound Direct Investment Pre-Condition to be satisfied, such that in the event that each Pre-Condition has been satisfied (or alternatively waived if capable of waiver), the Agreed Form 2.7 Announcement should be made prior to 31 December 2021."
