04/10/2005 07:29 | Azure closed at C$1.59 in Canada on high volume of 1.6m shares. That translates to 77.5p. And that was before the announcement of another order this morning. Even though the shares have risen strongly, I don't think investors should be too quick to take profits. This could be a major multi-bagger. The market value is still only around £100m. Alternative Energy is THE area to be in right now and Azure have a technically market leading technology that is actually being sold, rather than just talked about. Enjoy the ride! al | arnoldlane

04/10/2005 07:03 | Sale-Contract Azure Dynamics to deliver four hybrid electric shuttle buses to UPROSE in Brooklyn, NYC TORONTO, Oct. 4 /CNW/ - Azure Dynamics Corporation (TSX - AZD & LSE - ADC) ("Azure Dynamics" or the "Company") a leading developer of hybrid electric and electric powertrains for commercial and military vehicles is pleased to announce the sale of four 20-passenger hybrid electric shuttle buses to UPROSE (the United Puerto Rican Organization of Sunset Park) made possible with a grant from the New York Power Authority (NYPA). The hybrid electric "Citibus" employs the same chassis and hybrid electric drive system currently used in delivery vans supplied to other Azure customers. The hybrid chassis is fitted with a conventional shuttle bus body. "The sale of these four buses demonstrates the continued successful launch of our Citibus product. We are pleased to be working with UPROSE in support of their mission to provide a clean environment for the residents of Sunset Park in Brooklyn. Our Citibus product improves fuel economy by as much as 40% and reduces emissions by up to 90% when compared to a conventional shuttle bus," said Mark Federle, Azure's Vice-President, Sales. "Working with electric drive component developers to introduce emission reduction technologies is a major goal for the New York Power Authority," said NYPA President and Chief Executive Officer, Eugene W. Zeltmann. "We have successfully worked with Azure Dynamics on several electric drive projects and look forward to additional opportunities to improve air quality for all New Yorkers." The purchase of the Citibuses was made with funding and support from NYPA. UPROSE will distribute the buses to the Al Noor School, the Chinese- American Planning Council, and the Sunset Park Senior Center. "Not only have these organizations been involved with the NYPA project from the beginning, but they also represent constituencies that range in age and ethnicity to reflect the diversity of Sunset Park," stated Elizabeth Yeampierre, UPROSE's Executive Director. "Through projects like the purchase of hybrid shuttle buses, UPROSE hopes to raise the awareness of pollution reduction efforts." NYPA is the largest state-owned electric utility in the United States and operates a diversified electric transportation program responsible for placing 750 electric and hybrid electric drive vehicles in service with its public sector and economic development customers. Founded in 1964, UPROSE is Brooklyn's oldest Latino community-based organization. As an intergenerational community-based organization dedicated to the development of southwest Brooklyn and the empowerment of its residents primarily through broad and converging environmental, sustainable development and youth justice campaigns. 21/9/2005 17:22 | panagos, Azure recently raised C$11.5m from a Boston-based institution. We'll find out soon enough who that is. I think that gives them about C$26m in cash, which is roughly about £12m. I have also seen research from a Canadian broker (available on Multex if you subscribe) which forecasts profits in 2006 on the back of the Purolator deal. It's a forecast of course, so it could all go pear-shaped, but I think this has legs. Don't take my word for it though, do your own research. Cheers al | arnoldlane
21/9/2005 09:35 | AL "The balance sheet is strong and the company will report a profit in 2006". how do you know that? Potential is great BUT Cash burn is huge | panagos
21/9/2005 09:14 | I am staggered that there has been no comment on this share for 5 days now. There is little broker coverage at the moment, but there lies the opportunity. Hybrids are here to stay and I think that focussing on commercial and military is very sensible as these end markets will be less concerned about image and more concerned with performance and fuel savings. Azure has developments with a large number of vehicle users: Canada Post, Bronx Bus, US Army etc. OK, these are only developments, but the Purolater deal is the key. They are actually going to use the Azure Technology in 115 vehicles and my understanding is that this will ramp up to 400 vehicles annually for the next 5 years. So, put simply, the technology works! Once the likes of Fed-Ex and US Post start looking at it, we could quite easily have a $1bn company on out hands. As the current market cap is about $150m, that leaves a staggering amount of upside. The balance sheet is strong and the company will report a profit in 2006. Any views? al | arnoldlane
