I think FT Alphaville has lost the plot. They seem to be suggesting that MAST won't let bond holders take Avanti assets because they've spent a lot on them.

Professional investors don't tend to think like this and in any case if MAST are going to put more money in as equity why on earth would it be at a high price. I'm sure they'd be much better served by rinsing existing equity including themselves to end up with a much bigger slice of the pie.

To say someone could be actually paid to ramp any stock is a ridiculous statement, you have set your accounts up purely attack AVN 10 times a day, what does that say about you?? For the record I do believe a bid will come in for AVN and I'll take a punt soon as I believe the fall is over done IMO

If AVN falls back into the 20s without news I'll take a chance on AVN! I believe General George, Crobe and maybe Elrico are the same de rammpers, having sold out at a profit and now trying the same trick going down GLA

letmepass, it wasn't intended as a deramp (although given the amount of ramping that goes unchallenged I don't see why a little deramp should be a problem).

As I see it, if ordinary shareholders aren't going to be completely wiped out (certainly a possibility IMO) AVN need a takeover bid or a big fund raising. If existing shareholders are going to see any slice of that fund raising it will be via a rights issue or open offer and would likely be at a big discount to the current share price.

If a rights issue is at a big discount it doesn't mean it's a failure, just existing holders will have to stump up a lot if they are not going to be heavily diluted. e.g. LMI and currently MRO.

Who knows though, perhaps there will be that fantastic offer in the morning. There again, it might go the same way as David Williams's Avanti Screenmedia.
