27/6/2008 11:54 | Ecelectic: Are they keeping their heads above water? Recently they opened a new bar in Reading called Sakura on the site of the old Fez, allegedly (press report) costing £1m. Reviews seem good. No doubt the sector is experiencing a blood bath, but Ecelectic management apparently very capable so will be interesting to see mood music. There will be an update before June end, so either today or Monday. | adam
27/6/2008 11:01 | The biggest indicator that this could fall further is noted by quite simply looking at who started teh thread, imv. | nick faldo
27/6/2008 10:57 | adam, "it is in the books for the money they lent it!" but if you go to the last balance sheet you will see that even that is being eroded by trading losses and things can only have got worse since December 07 as current trading updates from Regent Inns and Premium Bars (formerly Ultimate Leisure) indicate. I've never had a clue what their other investments may be worth but, like Arthur L-S, have warned of the ability of this one to completely undermine any good things elsewhere. Eclectic Bars currently account for nearly half of total NAV/share so there's still the potential for significant further falls from here. Regards, Ian | jeffian

26/5/2008 11:45 | Just had aquick look at the interims for this for old times sake. Their NAV must be seriously overstated. I can't believe that Po Na Na is worth anything like its book value. That was a disaser of an investment. Do you remember when they bought it, they thought they were going to put in a couple of million quid and make a quick turn on it and now years later thanks to their own pride they've pumped millions into a business that has no assets and makes no profit. They should have dumped it when it was obvious it hadn't worked outand save shareholders a load of cash. | arthur_lame_stocks
15/5/2008 10:49 | Yeah not for the faint-hearted. Computer acceleration should be a no-brainer but not based on revenues so far! Already hold VDI. | hugepants

11/2/2008 18:25 | added nearly a customer per day in 2007, 40% growth, 2b transactions, and 50m unique customers. There was a recent fund raising. Management tight lipped. I suspect done at not a massive premium to current value as pointed out to me that if significant difference would need to be announced. | adam

27/10/2007 17:46 | The question is what will the value crystalised to Avanti be? ""Our tremendous growth is, in part, due to the healthy expansion in the overall mobile messaging industry," said Steve Livingston, CMO of mBlox. "mBlox signed up nearly a customer a day in 2007 so far, proving the constant development of new SMS and PSMS applications, and immediate adoption of these services by end users." To accommodate the demand for text-messaging services, mBlox has expanded its Sunnyvale headquarters and its Sydney office, opened a New York office and hired 85 new employees" Are they profitable? Will they IPO? | adam

14/10/2007 17:11 | Yes fine, but Espresso is only in the books at 4p (==£320k), presumably then AVA do not have a big % of the Espresso group. | adam
